Keurig did do something smart by listing the Supreme and Supreme SMART models under the same SKU. So, all the great reviews about the regular Supreme model hide the horrible experiences from those of us that bought the “SMART” model. Although I don’t have the regular model, I imagine that it is probably the perfect machine, since it doesn’t have the “extra” features that I not only paid more for, but are problematic.

YOU DON’T ALWAYS GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR
What makes this SMART? It boasts new features that are supposed to unlock your machine’s full potential and improve everything. Well, the first problem, as everyone else has mentioned, is that it is extremely difficult to get this to pair with your network. After trying for an HOUR, I returned this for a replacement, assuming that it was a buggy unit. Unfortunately, the replacement did the same thing. The automated process takes you to various steps, but won’t connect on the final step. It actually doesn’t always get to the penultimate step, but does maybe 25% of my attempts. I tried different networks and bandwidths, all with no luck. After trying for about 50 minutes, it actually connected. I’m not sure why or how, since I didn’t do anything different.
So now that I am connected, this is a good thing right? The first thing the Keurig does when you put a pod in is to enable the BrewID feature. This is supposed to read the pod you just inserted and optimize how it brews it so it comes out perfectly. I’ve tried over a dozen types of pods so far and none have been read by this function. I imagine that it has to be one of the affiliate brands that they spam in their app, that would make the most sense I guess. They probably use this to record your consumption habits as well, tbh. Since this does not read any of the pods I bought, all this function does is add 20 SECONDS to your wait time for the Keurig to brew your pod. 20 seconds sounds short, but it’s painfully slow when you are in a hurry and late for work! This function cannot be disabled, so I have to live with this every time I use it. These issues alone are enough for me to heavily advise everyone to get the regular Supreme and not the SMART version.

If you remove the SMART functions, this is one of the best Keurig’s so far. This is my 4th model, so I’ve grown with the upgrades and changes to each model. Here are some standout improvements with this model:

      * SMALLER FOOTPRINT and shorter height makes it fit in higher spaces, or just takes up less room which is always nice.
      * NEW DIGITAL READOUT is easier to read both during the day and at night
      * REMOVEABLE WATER RESERVOIR on the side is SO MUCH EASEIR than the older tanks that sometimes wrapped around the machine and required you to move the machine out every time.
      * TEMPERATURE CONTROL is a nice feature if you want to make your brew colder or hotter than normal.

As great as these are, the SMART features outweigh all of the good. Even if you get it to connect right away, I just don’t see what the benefits are. I’ve never thought to myself, I wish I could set an alarm and have my coffee machine brew a pod right after I wake up… and that’s probably the only positive (or not negative) feature that comes with being SMART.

      UPDATE:
After some more usage, I discovered that this machine has another defective function… It cannot brew the eco friendly, plastic-less pods. The new MULTISTREAM system that features 5 puncture points pushes down on the top of the pod, failing to fully puncture it at all 5 points. So, the injected hot water flows over the top of the pod and overflows on the sides. If you look at the pic I included, it shows that a very weak color stream of coffee comes out the main, center spout, and clear water drips down from the peripheral spouts. There isn’t enough pressure or water entering the center puncture needle, so what little water that does enter the pod is weak. I’ve now brewed 12 pods and only 2 brewed okay, although it was still weaker as some water leaked out the side. On top of this, grounds will escape up out of the pod and into your cup. I do not have this happen with normal pods, just the eco pods that have a filter paper body. So far, multistream has been a marketing gimmick that doesn’t improve any part of the brew and only causes problems.

It’s sleek smart easy to hook up if you have a good Internet connection. I saw someone had trouble with selecting the time and it’s not coming on. But could that be that they did not go to their phone and say yes there was a cup under it and ready to go? I find it easy convenient. The hot coffee is hot and it’s strong when I wanted to be couldn’t be better.

I was very skeptical about buying this coffee maker at first primarily because of some of the complaints in the bad reviews. However we couldn’t be happier with it. I was also intimidated by how complex it seemed. Our old Keurig which still worked fine after 6 years of use. It just required me to throw in a pod and push brew. However, this new coffee maker is not that complex. If you can figure out how to stream a show on television you can figure out how to make an excellent cup of coffee. My partner particularly loves the app which allows him to start brewing a cup of coffee while he’s getting dressed and have it piping hot and ready as soon as he walks downstairs in the morning . We are also extremely excited about the coffee makers ability to make a robust and flavorful iced coffee without melting the ice. I also thought the multi-stream technology was just a marketing ploy, but it does make a huge difference in the flavor the coffee. And the negative comments in the reviews about how long it takes to identify the manufacturer of the pod is probably due to internet connectivity and not the coffee maker. Ours identifies the pod within one or two seconds at the most. Go ahead and bite the bullet by getting this coffee maker. You’ll love it.

I ordered this coffeemaker on Jan 29, 2023, received it a few days later. We fell in love with it – it’s so easy to use and maintain. I also ordered the reusable pods so we can stop buying the plastic ones that go to the landfill. However (side note), the first pod I bought (the “universal” one with 5 holes on top) didn’t work – immediately sent it back. The next one I bought (also with the 5 holes at the top) only works if I tell the machine I want hot water – it doesn’t recognize the pod at all (says please add pod) – but again, I got around that by inserting the pod and requesting hot water – works fine. However, yesterday, after being away from home for a week, the first cup of the day malfunctioned – in fact, the machine smoked and made the “zit” sound resulting in a dead machine. I immediately sent it back to Amazon (luckily I was still in the return window) with no questions asked even as I explained what happened – easy peasy – thank you, Amazon! I also decided to give it another try and ordered the same machine again. We really liked the machine – the way the water reservoir works, etc., all the features that we wanted (I researched many machines to find one that suited us). Thus the 4 stars vs. 5. If the second one has trouble, I will reduce the stars. But for now, I’m hopeful.

All right, let me just start off by saying that I’ve always loved Keurig products. We had one when I was still living with my grandmother when I was a teenager, and then, when I lived with my ex-boyfriend, I requested one for Christmas and got one. Now I have an old one, I think it’s one of the first models. It has always worked pretty much loyally for me before, and I liked the other machines as well. That being said, something has gone horribly wrong with this one.
I’ve had my old, big, slow, somewhat clunky one for about three years now. It still works, but a few times I’ve heard it making a couple of strange noises, and it has gotten slower with years, even with descaling. And I very much wanted to get an upgrade that also had smart capabilities.
Now, some of this next part is common sense, but I specifically gave it an easy to use rating of two stars, because I could not find a user manual online that wasn’t just an image. Since I cannot read print booklets, this was the only way that I would have been able to use a manual.
When I tried to connect my device, I tried to do it myself at first, and that turned out to be a disaster. It came on easily enough, and I was trying to follow the prompts in my Keurig app… Which wanted me to follow the on-screen prompts on the device. I have just barely enough vision to where, if I am careful, I can sometimes muddle through and get these things set up by myself.
As it turned out, I could not. There was one part where my phone was the issue. But at one point, the machine somehow changed into French language after turning off and being turned back on again. At least I think it was French? And I could not for the life of me get it back to any type of menu to make it do anything. I turned it on and off a couple of times, and I tried holding down the arrow buttons again. That did not work. I pushed a few other buttons, hoping that it might do something. It did not.
Then here comes the worst part. Just as I was ready to ask for visual assistance to get the machine set up, it made popping noises… And then it shut off, and it never turned back on again. I tried turning it on, I tried plugging and unplugging it… And even moving it to a different outlet, and then I tried waiting until the next day, just in case there was that small… Very small… Margin That it just overheated and turned off, and did not fry. It fried! I don’t know how. I don’t know why. I do know that we have some slightly outdated electricity, but the product boasted that it carried a smaller footprint. So, if this is true, then it should use less electricity than my old one. Not only that, but it was just this one machine. The surge protector itself still worked, and anything else that I plugged into it still worked. The electricity in that area of the house was also still turned on and worked perfectly fine. The only other thing I can think is that the bottom got a bit wet when I accidentally spilled a little bit of the water from the reservoir onto my pod tray. But I wiped that up as best as I could, and there wasn’t that much water.
There was a paper that I got with the product that said something about extending a warranty. The print is so big on that that I could read what it said. But I don’t remember getting a warranty when I bought the product. I guess it’s possible I could’ve missed that section?
At any rate, I am extremely frustrated and upset… And I am not a happy camper. And I am not in a position where I can just hop into a car and drive to a mailing facility to return the item.
I’ve not seen any other reviews that have had this specific issue, so this review is not to scare anyone away. I still like Keurig products… I just hope I can get this issue resolved ASAP!

Here’s the response from San Francisco Bay coffee customer support when I emailed them that my Keurig multistream did not always pierce their coffee pods so the coffee could brew correctly:

Thank you for contacting us. I am so glad to hear you love our coffee. Though I am sorry to hear about the recent trouble. Based on your description, it sounds like you are using a brewer with the MultiStream (5 prongs) system. While we did have some success with our OneCUP pods brewing just fine in the new Keurigs that have the MultiStream system, we did encounter some issues as well. This new design with the five plastic water injectors has been giving our OneCUP lidding a challenge. Some of the pods work just fine, while others do not.

SF Bay Coffee came out with the Blue Brew Adapter to help with brewing our OneCUP pods in the Keurig MultiStream brewers while we work on updating our lidding material. If you are in need of an adapter, please provide us with the following information:

      -Where you purchased our product
-What size box and flavor you purchased
-The best by date (located on any of the inner bags of pods)
-The batch number and time stamp (located below the best by date)
      -Your shipping address

We will also get a complimentary box of coffee out to you to make up for the wasted pods. I look forward to hearing back from you.

Have had 2 big Kurigs, loved them. This works perfectly and we can use it to travel in our 5th wheel, where there is limited space. Does everything we need it for. Easy to fill the water and there are lots of options for size of cup and if you are a tea aficionado you can select the temperature for brewing your tea.

We just upgraded from an older Keurig machine and this K-Supreme SMART Coffee Maker is a heck of an upgrade.
      – Setup was super simple – I didn’t need the instruction booklet as the on-screen instructions were sufficient and intuitive.
      – Custom settings are abundant, and it will be interesting to see if we get creative in trying different settings to change the flavor. In the meantime, it works perfect for us.
      – I was surprised how fast the water heated up. When performing the 1st cleansing cycle, it heated the water for less than 10 seconds. I thought there was no way it was brewing hot (thinking the cleansing cycle was just running cool water through it), boy was I wrong. I tested the water temp with my finger, and it was super-hot!
      – The Favorites setting will come in handy as my coffee tastes are different from others in the household.
      – The fact that it can recognize K-Cups is pretty wild as well (we have some “K” logo pods on order and will update the review after we try them out).
      – It was nice to be able switch the water tank to the back as well as it makes the device super thin on the counter – especially compared to our old one.
      – This thing is so smart, it tells you when a used pod is still in the holder!
      – The LED light that lights up the pod holder is pretty cool as well.
      – I’ve hooked up the app and it’s pretty intuitive as well. It makes customization of your brewer super easy.

All-in-all, a really good buy at ~$130. If something changes, I will update the review.

Open box for $50 can’t beat that. Just don’t turn on the coffee maker without water in it.. It will trip a high limit thermostat inside the coffee maker.. You have to take it apart and push the reset button with a paper clip. Youtube has a video if your coffee maker won’t “power on” easy fix, just need a screwdriver and paperclip.
