I rarely return things, but I immediately returned this electric kettle without even turning it on. I did fill it with water and tested the filter that hangs down from the lid. Much water passes by the large (about 3/16″) gap between filter and the glass. I think many people just remove the filter. The whole product gave me an impression of low quality, and I did not think I would be happy with it. It has a lot of positive reviews, but the reviews seem to cover more than one model, which is very confusing. The one I bought had the Iridescent Clear Glass and white handle and cover.

I am obsessed with the irridescent glass look, and I was thrilled when I found this. I noticed it had a lot of bad reviews so I almost didn’t, but I am glad I did!!
Yes, it does wobble on the base, which is weird. Why the company didn’t address this in manufacturing is beyond me, but it doesn’t really affect the functionality.
I also don’t like the plastic on the lid, and it is a bit tricky to open and pour from because sometimes it burns your hand.
But I look at the beauty of it and it makes it all worth it. Also it heats up fast! If Hamilton Beach would fix it up a bit, address there issues and make a new model with a colored silicone handle that is more comfortable a d easier to pour from id be first in line to buy again!

Had to replace an older black version of this 1.7L kettle due to it finally leaking after about 6 years of daily use. Was happy to pay a little less for the white iridescent version of the same product. It was shipped in the original manufacturer packaging, without any additional amazon packaging and surprisingly arrived in good condition. After pulling it out of the package and washing it prior to first use, I noticed that the kettle itself does not sit flat on the electric base the way my old black version did. It still works, so my husband refused to let me return it, but I really don’t appreciate how wobbly it is. It might be best to purchase this item at Target or elsewhere in person where you can evaluate the base to kettle connection before taking it home.

I bought this for my mom, who just needed a way to make a quick cup of Lipton without having to put a pot on the stove (and she doesn’t have a microwave). This fits the bill perfectly! It doesn’t take up much space, it boils water (no remperature controls – just boils) quickly, and the auto shut off feature is great. I also like the blue lights in it that glow while the kettle is working and shut off when it stops. A good visual indicator, and it also looks really cool – try making tea in a dark kitchen and you’ll see what I mean!
This kettle also was very reasonably priced, and the iridescent glass makes it look a bit fancier than a “plain” glass kettle. All in all, a great purchase!

Looks nice but is not good quality. Opening lid is difficult-have to pinch two things to get it open and it doesn’t stay open unless you open it all the way. When pouring water it spills if tilted to far forward. Not worth the $. Buying a breville
