Overall, a disappointing purchase. I own a few Breville products but this been the worst so far.
      1) The sequence of buttons you need to push for every run is complex. You need to setup a steep time, then push the start button, then wait until the water is boiled then put the tea in, then push the steep start button. Ugh.
      2) The biggest issue is that the release button on top of the lid only works when the kettle is cold. When the water is boiling and you try to get it out it will only release the whole assembly not just the lid. And you are risking to burn your hands in the process.

I’d recommend a more expensive but much better other kettle from Breville I owned and used for a few years before I dropped it on the floor and broke the glass.

I use this on a daily basis. It’s expensive but worth it not to have to fool around getting the temperature from a kettle right.
I saw people not like when it gets tea stains on the glass. I just run it with some vinegar and water occasionally and that seems to help.
      Excellent product!

I just got this and I loved it right out of the box. It is nicely made and it works great. I do have one big negative and that’s the documentation. Simply put, it’s terrible. They left out two of the biggest and most important bits of information. They didn’t mention the red light on the start button and what it means when it is flashing. And they didn’t mention that if the light on the steep timer is flashing, then it is not yet steeping and you have to press it again. You learn these things by accident, only when you haven’t done something correctly and you have to figure it out on your own. That part annoyed me a lot, but once I figured it all out, I fell in love. It makes perfectly brewed hot tea and it can keep it warm all day as long as you know which button to press and when. So read on for some helpful tips.

Before you press Start, when the unit is on, the white lights are all solid. When the Start button is properly activated, that light changes to red and it blinks intermittently. When the unit finishes heating the water, the lights are all solid white again. You have to press the steep time start button and then the small LED in front of each steeping minute will blink as it counts down to show the progress. When it finishes steeping it automatically goes into a keep warm setting for 30 minutes. You only know this because the Start button light starts intermittently blinking red again, but this time it’s to let you know it’s in keep warm mode, the other button lights all turn off. If you lift the pot at any point after Keep Warm turns on, the warming function automatically turns off. You can see that the lights all goes dark when you lift the pot and then back to white again when you place the pot back down. In order to reactivate another 30 minutes of keep warm, you have to press and hold the Temp/Keep Warm button for two seconds until that light goes off and the Start light on the right starts to blink red again. You can keep a pot warm all day as long as you reactivate the warming function as I just described. It’s ridiculous that the manual didn’t explain this and it was beyond annoying that the quick start card never mentioned it either. But in the end, I still love my new tea brewer and it works like a charm!

I literally HATE this teamaker but I don’t have the packaging any longer or I would return it. The buttons are so confusing—half the time, I can’t get the timer to work so I just let it stay on the warm button until the tea is steeped. If you pour tea, you have to remember to turn the warm button back on. Why not just keep it on warm for a set amount of time?! The instructions aren’t much help—they really should have end-users critique manuals before they go out the public. Do yourself a favor and find another option—I’m stuck with this as I spent $170 on it and feel I need to suck it up and keep it til it dies.

I love this tea pot so much! I didn’t love it at first though because the function isn’t intuitive and the directions don’t begin to explain how to use it properly. I had to use it and find out by trial and error how to get the perfect pot of tea. I bought this because I am making the switch from coffee to tea and it has made the transition easy after the first week or so. Some other reviews mention rust, and I did get those spots but they aren’t rust, they’re just tea stain. I bought a long handled brush and some vinegar to keep my pot pristine. If I ever need another, I might check out the cuisenart brand just to see if it’s more intuitive, but I wouldn’t hesitate to buy this one again since I already know how to use it.

This teapot is great ! Love Breville products. They are well made and last a long time. This has a low profile and works really well. Easy to set up and use. I would buy this and other products again. I hope this will last me for several years to come. Worth the money and if you see a special or have a coupon – consider buying Breville.

I’ve used this for Chrysanthemum and Chamomile tea. The result is perfect every single time.

I love both green and black teas but could never get the taste right because you have to have the correct temperature and best length of brew time. My first pot of green was awesome! Perfect temperature with a keep warm cycle so I could brew a whole pot. Then I tried my black tea which always seemed to be too strong before. Not any more. Black needs a higher temperature but this infuser gives just the right brewing time to get the best flavor. The Breville takes the guesswork out of making a perfect tea every time. If you love teas, you will love this tea infuser.

Perfect size for me. I did not want a large unit taking up more room on the counter. I rather make tea more often than drink stale tea kept warm for a long time.
Tips for other users who complained that the top is hard to remove; Apply a haze of olive oil to the seal. This will make it easy to remove.

I love it. It doesn’t look very big, but it heats enough water for a single cup/mug or enough to fill a tea pot. It heats the water to just the right temperature with 5 temperature choices. Then it steeps the loose tea or tea bags to your time preference and lets you know when the time is up. It also keeps the pot warm for a half hour with the option to keep it warm for an additional half hour. Breville is a quality product which is reflected in this tea kettle. You’ll love it too.
