We have been using an air fryer as a toaster since moving. But it just doesn’t do the job. This black & decker toaster is great. It toasts PERFECTLY. Easy to use, simple controls. I like lightly toasted so around a 3 is perfect for me. Easy to clean! It has two crumb catcher trays that slide right out and you can wipe clean. So easy. I like the look of it as well, and it matches my other appliances. I mean just look at the pictures, it speaks for itself!

My Kitchenaide toaster gave out and I was determined to try to find a toaster that actually would toast as toasters of yesterday. Not certain why they put in all those coils the majority do not seem to work.
Dediced to purchase a Black and Decker given the quality of their brand. This toaster has more coils that light than the Kitchenaide. Notice one side on every slice light up almost completely but the other side hardly lights up at all. Nevertheless, it makes good toast so I am pleased.

I dont know if it’s my fancy organic bread but it’s kind of crap at toasting thing. I mention the special bread because I toasted a crap cancer inducing bread and it worked about 75% okay. All the coils light up but they wont toast evenly on both sides of a single piece of bread. If I turn it up higher, it just burns the bread. I dont expect to get much better from expensive toasters so I figured, oh well I saved a little money.

We got this toaster after having had one for 20 years. Even though this is just a toaster, we had a bit of trepidation in getting a new one. He get used to the quirks of a 20-year-old toaster. Holding it down a little longer, knowing when to pull it back up because the dial doesn’t work as well as it used to, etc.
I was a little concerned after I read some of the reviews about the way that it browns the toast evenly unevenly not at all etc. However, it works like a charm. We have used this for naan and toast bread so far. Even oversized bread like rye works in here very well. On ours, it seems like there is a little bit of a point between not getting enough browning and getting too much. But once you know where that is, you can adjust it the way that you want to.
I really like the the cancel button in case you’ve done something. With my old toaster I had to flip it up and work with it that way. This time I just press a button and everything is swell.
It is a very substantial machine. I don’t mind as some reviewers have pointed out that the crumb catcher is in the back. I don’t leave my toaster out on the countertop anyway so the look of it didn’t really matter. It’s more the function.
If you don’t want to spend a lot on a toaster, buy this one.
We had bought a Frigidaire retro looking one before this one, and we had to return it because it didn’t work. So kudos to these people for actually building something that works out of the box.

The “bagel” slots are not NY bagel worthy. I mean a REAL LI,NY bagel. Otherwise it seems to do fine for regular toast, english muffins. I was surprised as our last toaster slots were bigger.
