Therefore, differences in moisture level from one bread to another can result in varying toasting times. For slightly dry bread, use a lower setting than you normally would. For very fresh bread or whole wheat bread, use a higher setting than normal. Breads with very uneven surfaces (such as English muffins) will require a higher toast setting. Thickly cut pieces of bread (including bagels) will take longer to toast, sometimes significantly longer, since more moisture must be evaporated from the bread before toasting can occur. Very thick pieces may require two cycles. Cleaning and Maintenance Always allow the toaster to cool completely before cleaning. Do not use abrasive cleansers. Simply wipe the exterior with a clean damp cloth and dry thoroughly. Apply any cleansing agent to a cloth, not to the toaster, before cleaning. To remove crumbs, slide out the crumb tray and discard crumbs. Wipe clean and replace. Never operate the toaster without the crumb tray in place. To remove any pieces of bread remaining in the toaster, turn the toaster upside down and gently shake. Never insert any hard or sharp instruments into the slot, as this could damage the toaster and cause a safety hazard. Never wrap the cord around the outside of the toaster. Use the cord storage cleats on the underside of the toaster. Product Dimensions The Cuisinart 2-Slice Metal Classic Toaster measures approximately 10.75″ x 7.13″ x 7.13″. This toaster is quite lightweight and cheap. It works great and has many settings. Controls move easily.

So far no complaints. Had this thing for a few months now.

It looks really great on the counter and it toasts very well. I like the bottom button on either row; it is a toast cancel/release button. If you get impatient or worry that your toast is burning you just push the button on either side of the toaster and it cancels the heat and pops up the toast.

The settings are pretty high on this thing. I have never had to go past 3.5 (of 6 settings). There is a defrost and reheat button, as well as a bagel one. You can literally pop your bread or bagel from the freezer and defrost it in the toaster. This is one high-tech toaster disguised as a 1950’s dream kitchen machine. The workmanship is 4 of 5 stars. It is nowhere near as solid as a 1930’s toaster, but then what is? The sides and front are metal, the handles and buttons and dials plastic, but it is well made and it works. I have no complaint on this. I just wanted a red toaster, but instead I got something that does a lot more. The only way they could improve this would be to make it convert to a toaster oven somehow.

One side (two slots) stopped toasting bread on both sides after 2 years. At the 6+ yr. mark, the other side has begun toasting one side only partially, making it time to replace it. The price point and brand and design are tempting to repeat, but I would rather not keep tossing toasters into the landfill. Will wait and buy a better quality toaster that will perform at 100% and stand the test of time.

My 8 yr old toaster died-got another kitchen aide and it burned everything on 1. So this looked like a possible toaster I was looking for. Yes—the temp control knobs are sloppy loose but it is not a problem if you watch what you are doing. You do have to hold the lever down about 5 seconds but not a big issue.
1 gives you warm toast, 1/12 starts to get a bit darker and by 2 it toasts pretty brown and would be great for bagels. This has 1/2 increments which is handy which I’ve never had before. Has the cleaning slots on the back bottom for cleaning and it like it’s looks. Real winner and so glad I got this one!!!

I love the look of this toaster on the counter. It has a real ‘vintage’ look. It has options for defrost, bagels, and reheat. The dial selector for darkness adds to the classic vintage look and feels nice when turning.
Oh yeah, It also toasts very evenly.

AMAZON SUCKS DONT BUY HO TO WALMART INSTEAD

Would of given 5 stars but because of how they shipped it I didn’t.
It’s my 2nd one, I should of gotten the extra warranty with it but I didn’t. I strongly recommend getting it, I did this time.
It’s the cutest toaster I’ve ever had.
To bad they raised the price. I paid $68.00.
My only problem is the didn’t ship it in a box, they shipped it just as it with sticker on the outside of the box so unfortunately the box was dented and banged up. I just hope it works.
I have 1 month to see if it doesn’t so that’s good.
Pictures attached.. hmmmm how do I do that??

We just went through a nightmare with a Cuisinart coffee maker. But when it came time to replace our old toaster – it was a Cuisinart and we’d had it nearly 20 years… so I bought this one. When it arrived today, I was happy to take it out of the box…and then I got a good look at it. It looks nice but as soon as you touch the dials, you realize its not alright.. they free spin! The right-side handle went down /with/ the wheat bread I placed in the slots. I only had to nudge it to get it to lock down with the setting on ‘3’. The left side refused to go down. It kept coming back up. I finally managed to get it to stay down with the turn dial set to ‘1’. Couple minutes later, weird popping noises were coming from the right side.
The left side popped back up to reveal. . . somewhat warmed bread.
The right side popped up to reveal … ahem…somewhat warm bread.
Hmmm so…maybe I did something wrong (on a toaster…) I set the right side dial to 4, put two slices of bread in and waited. Again the odd popping noises started… this time when the bread shot out of the toaster, it was black on one side and somewhat toasted on the other.

Never in my life have I wanted to cry over the death of our 19+ year old toaster… it will be missed because if this thing is what Cuisinart is building now.. *sigh*

It arrived to fanfare and is not being booed back out of the house. Its cheaply made, doesn’t toast correctly and sounds like it is having a mini-fireworks display inside. We’re sending this toaster back NOW.
