The heating element gave out after 5 weeks. It is very fussy- to have smooth quiet operation the pitcher & lid must be located exactly over the element in the base. I had to use 2 cycles to get the milk hot enough. This is my 3rd frother. Others lasted over a year a least. I purchased this one because I had high hopes from this manufacturer and liked the seperate pitcher idea. It was easy to clean. Very disappointed overall.

Seriously, how hard is it to make a good milk frother, it certainly isn’t anywhere close to rocket science, and why have so many failed so miserably, other than intentional, overly focused on profit, getting by with the bare minimum. A trend I had hoped Amazon will begin to address and discourage. The problem these days is anyone can sell anywhere, and nothing is validated fit for consumption or use. My prior Krups milk frother did a good job, but the non-stick coating started to come off, and I don’t even use anything but soft sponge. So I go on the hunt for anything non-china designed and made, good luck with that. So here’s a big EU brand name known for kitchenware, Zwilling frother looked promising at first glance, stainless steel, so non of that coating coming off BS, seemingly simplistic design with the motor driving a free-spinning whisk, all great right….. well. First, plastic rubbing against plastic over time, will for sure result in wear, while spinning, making us ingest tiny particles of plastics, as if the ocean plastic isn’t enough of a problem for our food chain nightmare. 2nd problem came when the whisk won’t always spin, because the drive or position of the whisk, who knows, it turned a half awake morning coffee making process into an full blown investigative undertaking. I no longer needed coffee to be awake. So, after 1 return, the 2nd still having the issue, I’ve determined that this is simply a bad design, and it doesn’t froth that great, seriously… very disappointed, that something so simple can be so hard to come by in 2023. Do we need Ai for milk frothers? ridiculous………

I originally ordered this and it worked great for 5 months then sort of quit on me. It was passed the return date on Amazon so I called the company. I did actually get in touch with a human pretty quickly. They assured me they would replace it and that was it. They sent me an email I was supposed to fill out and send in with the broken unit, but the email got stuck in a spam folder. I just took the unit apart, unplugged and re plugged all the little wiring clips and it started working again. About a month after the phone call a new unit arrived on my porch so they were clearly sincere about fixing the issue despite me not seeing the paperwork.

UPDATE: I did finally get a response from Zwilling and a replacement. I had to keep following up with them though. I’ve only been using the new one a few days, but it seems to run smoother. Time will tell if it lasts. I’m upping my rating.

I will say it’s much better than the Aeroccino I’ve been using in the interim. The Aeroccino only ran for like 30 seconds, which is not enough time to fully foam even a small amount of milk. The Zwilling runs for 2 or 3 minutes and foams ALL the milk and warms it nicely. It’s harder to clean than the Aeroccino, but I can live with that.
      *****
After some struggle initially I was able to get this to work, for a while. I thought I was doing better by buying a more high end product. The packaging and literature was impressive. Made a lot of noise to froth and wasn’t very consistent. Did not froth anything other than real whole milk. Stopped working entirely at 6 weeks. Complete failure. After several messages back and forth with Zwilling, they sent me a return label and said they were already sending a replacement and I’d have it in 7-10 days. I sent the old one back and it’s been about 5 weeks and no replacement yet. No answer from Zwilling on my inquiries. Don’t buy ANYTHING from this manufacturer.

Third time’s the charm. After 2 manual frothers with broken class snf one plug in that was impossible to clean and stopped working after 2 months, I finally sprung for this gem. Makes lovely thick and creamy foam for my morning coffee. I’m cutting down on sat fat and frothing it up like this makes even 1% milk taste good! Easy to clean– you can actually wash it (unlike the last one). My only fear is the the plastic that holds the thing that spins around and froths might break at some point, but I’ve been careful and the whole thing has held up flawlessly for half a year now. Win!

It heats , but does not froth.

    7. PrudentShopper

This product works great at frothing milk; hot or cold. Although it sometimes looses it’s connection to the base and ‘spins out’; you simply have to remove & reseat the pitcher. However, I have already replaced it once because the handle of the pitcher came loose within the first few months. I have had the replacement for a bit longer, and the handle has come off again. We’re two mature adults, and the coffee station is 2′ from the sink, so we hand wash it every time it’s used and don’t throw it around. I think this is a manufacturers flaw in the design of this pitcher for the device (we’ve ‘glued’ the handle back on for now… ;-/

Not only does it not heat it does not froth. Obviously I got one that does not work because it looked like a good product.

    9. NYC reviewer

This product is great! Froths and heats milk and almond milk very well. We had a different frother about 10 years ago that was a pain to clean so we stopped using it. This model is really, really easy to clean and we use it every day. Our lattes at home are even better than the coffee shops. Highly recommend!

We use this for our cappuccino in the morning, automatic power off. Great milk frothing. I power off before automatic to get more liquid texture
