This is not a heavy duty restaurant quality product but I did not pay a premium for that either. This unit did GREAT for a recent party we had. There is a variance in the heat between the trays but this was actually an advantage because once I found out what tray did what in its location it was easy to move things I wanted hotter to the hotter locations. It’s super easy to clean. For the money, it’s worth it.

We gave a party for about 25 people, and this appliance worked very well for moving batches of grits casserole and potato casserole from the big ugly baking pans to the chafing pans and holding the food warm as people grazed. Also worked well for keeping croissants warm but not drying them out. You will need to get a short extension cord…I used large bright masking tape to attach the extension cord to the floor…because the appliance cord is impossibly short. (Thank you so much, OSHA, sarcastically.)
A very good addition to party planning, and easy cleanup. I doubt you could run a catering business with it, but for home use it’s wonderful.

The warmer tray containers are too small and all it did was make the food stick to the pan ruining the food. I was very displeased my guests didn’t get the best of the meal I worked so hard to prepare for them.

Great for side dishes and appetizers. I used this for Thanksgiving to keep the sides warm while the rest coooked. Worked beautifully. Kept things warm without burning them. I kept this on for several hours to feed a crowd of 20 and we had plenty of leftovers. Each tray handled double the recipe for green beans, stuffing and potatos easily. Lids are a sturdy plastic that washed up easily. There are narrow pieces of metal on the bottom but I wouldn’t call them sharp. The pieces fit together well. I ran it for several hours before I used it and that got rid of the ‘new’ smell. It wasn’t that strong with mine but I didn’t want it to taint the taste of the dishes.

The warming tray arrived slightly dented; the metal warming tray is admittedly cheap and flimsy, as others have pointed out in their reviews. However, I bought the set lightly used for 1/2 the price, and it is well worth it for the money. The dent doesn’t affect the heat distribution. The buffet gets warm pretty fast. The trays are of decent size for Thanksgiving/Christmas sides. A tray won’t hold a whole turkey, but it will hold 5lb of potatoes or stuffing and gravy for 20-30 ppl just fine. It may not be pretty, but it’s functional.
