I use this for checking the temperature at the HVAC vents. I also use it when doing epoxy resin casting to check curing temperatures. It is also good for checking temperatures for cooling water for CNC spindles or routers used as spindles.

I have a solostove pizza oven that get placed on top of the smokeless fire pit. Temperature is pretty critical for making a good pizza. This thermometer is perfect for keeping informed on the oven’s temperatures.

I like that the laser is nice & bright, easy to see outdoors. It’s easily switched between Celsius & Fahrenheit (maybe a bit too easy) and reads quickly. You can turn the laser off, but I’m not sure what the advantage is, maybe to read ambient temperature? The numbers are nice & big, easy to read and the body is a great, easy to spot, orange so it’ll stand out in the tool box. I’m not sure about the accuracy yet, I’ll test that when we get some colder days and there’s snow on the ground. Overall, I like the thermometer.
Here’s what I don’t like:
There’s no lanyard, so there’s no way to attach it to your wrist. I use mine around my marina a lot, and a drop means I lose it into saltwater. That means even if I recover it (depends on the current), the electronics are unlikely to survive. I plan to drill a hole in the base of the battery door and thread a piece of paracord through with a sliding knot so I can put it around my wrist & snug it up.
The other thing I don’t like is the noise when you pull the trigger. The electronic beep is just too loud for me and I find it annoying. It’d be nice to be able to control the volume, or simply switch it off. I suppose I could wire in a resistor to tone it down, but that sounds like too much work. I’ll probably just put some tape over the speaker hole and see how much that quiets it down.

After watching numerous YouTube videos on how to cook with the Blackstone laptop griddle became a parent that you should have this type of thermometer so I purchased one. Very satisfied with it. It does a great job and it does allow you to find tune it for the surface your measuring, therefore I’d recommend it

Love this temp gun! I got it to measure the basking temp of my chameleon. It’s so easy to use and accurate. You can measure once, or, if you keep the trigger down, it can give you instant temps as you move across a surface. I would definitely buy again.
