I’ve been a big fan of the Meater Plus and the Meater 2 plus is such a lovely upgrade!
Now I can cook and monitor multiple cooks at once! 👩‍🍳

I’ve used your basic meat probes in the past and Meater is nothing like it.
Paired with the app, it makes cooking easy without disrupting your cooking temp.
There are recipes and guides on the app as well.
Accurate and easy to use when grilling or roasting, it takes off the guesswork making your meal perfect every time. The app even estimates the cooking time for you and takes the stress off.

Just like the Meater Plus, Meater 2’s appearance is also slick, simplistic, and sophisticated. You can also stick the charging station on your fridge!
I can also check the ambient temp in the oven/grill letting me know if I should adjust my temperature since sometimes that can be inaccurate depending on what cookware you’re using.
The Meater 2 plus has a higher temperature reading, and can withstand up to 1000F 🔥

I’ve smoked brisket 🥩 and beef ribs so far on my Meater 2 plus, and can’t wait to use it more for my family!
The Meater Plus 2 is a great investment and should be a staple in every kitchen.

I have an old Meater that I have used for many of my smoker/grilling experiences and it was fantastic. I decided to try the new Meater Plus and found it came with all of the great features of the old Meater, but allowed me to walk through my house without losing connectivity. That is quite the bonus as my kitchen is not real close to my grill.
The Meater is always spot on when it comes to temperature and it is pretty accurate in determining the actual time left to cook. Another feature is the ability to see how the cook progressed. It allows you to see what is going on inside the grill without opening the lid and make adjustments accordingly.
Only con is it doesn’t like to connect to phone real fast, but it gets there.

As a seasoned grill enthusiast, I’ve tried my fair share of meat thermometers. But let me tell you, the Meater 2 probe is in a league of its own. It’s not just a kitchen gadget; it’s a culinary companion that elevates your cooking game to Michelin-star levels.

      🔥 Accurate Readings, Every Time
The Meater 2 doesn’t play games when it comes to precision. Whether you’re grilling a juicy ribeye or slow-smoking a brisket, this little wonder delivers spot-on temperature readings. No more guesswork—just perfectly cooked meat, every single time.

      📱 Savvy Smartphone App
The Meater app (available for iPhone and Android) is like having a personal sous chef. It guides you through the entire cooking process, from preheat to resting. Set your desired doneness, and the app alerts you when it’s time to pull your masterpiece off the grill. It’s like having Gordon Ramsay whispering cooking secrets in your ear (minus the expletives).

💪 Built to Withstand the Heat
Unlike some wimpy thermometers that crumble under pressure, the Meater 2 can handle serious heat—up to a scorching 1000 degrees Fahrenheit. Whether you’re searing steaks or channeling your inner dragon, this probe won’t flinch. It’s practically indestructible.

      💸 Pricey but Worth It
Okay, let’s address the elephant in the room: the Meater 2 isn’t cheap. But quality comes at a cost, my friends. Think of it as an investment in your culinary prowess. Plus, you won’t need to replace it after a measly dozen cooks (side-eye at the TempSpike). This bad boy is here for the long haul.

      🎉 Double Trouble
I loved my first Meater 2 so much that I bought a second one. Now I can monitor multiple cuts of meat simultaneously—because why settle for one perfectly cooked steak when you can have two?

In summary: If you’re serious about grilling, smoking, or roasting, the Meater 2 probe is your secret weapon. It’s like having a culinary Jedi by your side, ensuring your meat emerges from the flames with Jedi-level precision. May the grill be with you!

This thing is awesome. It’s accurate as heck, it can’t burn up in my grill with the cover closed, and it is as simple to use as can be. The App is great, with not only the interface for the Meater, but also all kinds of recipes, advice and videos. You can actually choose the temps and make your own presets. It even calculates your rest time for a perfect cook.
Reasons for a 4 star review: You can only currently buy 1 Meater 2+ at a time, so I will have charging blocks all over the place. Kinda dumb. They say a 4 block is coming, but that means I’ll have to buy 4 more probes. I’d rather buy the block, and add probes as I wish.
The block is AA battery powered…C’mon,, why not USB-C rechargeable? Who the heck does AA anymore?
Range from the grill with the cover closed is kinda sketchy, and it’s not all that good with the cover open, but acceptable.
I will say this- this probe is well worth the price of admission for the temp range alone if you are an outdoor griller. I bought it to replace a det of 2 from another manufacturer that burned up in use.
      Cheaper ones will definitely disappoint!

I’ve used wired temperature probes for YEARS now, and never had an issue until recently, where the transceiver units (the devices that receive the input from the probes and transmit it to the temperature control device) actually melted, causing my cook to become a charred, blackened mass of carbon.

I decided to look for wireless probes, but found there were SO many on the market it was hard to know what separated the good ones from the Chinese knock-off junk. I eventually found the original Meater probe, but wasn’t all that impressed. Next I ran across the Meater block, and was tempted, but just didn’t need to pay for 4 probes.

I actually had another brand in my card when I finally ran across the Meater 2PLUS. It took a couple of days of deciding between the other brand and Meater 2+, but I eventually went with Meater, and I’m glad I did.

First, I LOVE the simplistic yet very attractive charging station. The app seemed a bit overwhelming at first, but during even the first use I got entirely comfortable with how it worked, and now find it very intuitive and helpful.

The probes themselves are good. VERY good, in fact. As long as you follow the very simple usage rules you’ll get excellent results every time, in a number of cooking mediums.

Thus far I’ve used the Meater 2+ in these cooking mediums: Deep Fry; Sous Vide; Oven roasting; Grilling; Smoker. The probes worked exceptionally well in each. I was MOST surprised with the smoker, however. As much as I cook, and as much as I LIKE to cook, my smoker has defied my best efforts for some time now. I just couldn’t seem to get the right combination of time, heat, and internal temperature to produce something I could be happy with. With the Meater 2+ probe, that kind of all went away. By knowing the real-time ambient and internal temperatures, I could finally manage the smoker settings to produce a cut of meat that was fully cooked, tender, and LOADED with the goodness that comes from smoking. That one experience convinced me that the Meater 2+ was the thing I needed to elevate my cooks to the next level and beyond.

I highly recommend the Meater 2+. This firm offers basically three different variations – the original Meater – a good, but somewhat limited version 1 product. Then there’s the Meater Block – 4 probes with enhanced connectivity, but basically the same functionality as the original Meater. Finally, the Meater 2+ that offers both connectivity methods, plus more sensors in the probes themselves that offer a much improved insight into your cook. For example:

I recently smoked a pork loin, using 2 Meather 2+ probes at each end of the cook. I found some pronounced temperature variations between the two ends of the loin, and was able to figure out there were marked temperature variations in the heating zones of my smoker. The Meater 2+ probes were able to give me the insight I needed to make the adjustments that would result in an evenly cooked/smoked pork loin. (By the way, Pecan smoke yields an absolutely delicious pork roast!).

I learned that the temperature probe built into my smoker averaged a +6 degree variance from the Meater 2+ probes, meaning that my cook would have been severely undercooked had I relied on it. By deciding to rely exclusively on the Meater probes, my Pork Loin roast came out tender, juicy, and totally delicious. Best ever results I’ve gotten from my smoker.

Again, I highly recommend the Meater 2+ temperature probes to get the best information back for your cook.

The thermometer function works ok. Blue tooth signal is very week. Not quite unusable, but almost.it’s weak enough I have to leave my phone very close to the base station, then I have to go check my temps constantly. The cooking time estimates are useless. Mine will overshoot the target temp everytime. Co worker has 2 of these and they also over shoot the target temp. Extremely overpriced, several features don’t work.

I’ve been using the Weber iGrill2 for years with great results but had two small nits to pick with it. First was the wires running to the probes, annoying and somewhat cumbersome. Second was the APP which for some reason had never heard of the concept of carryover in cooking, which left it to me to precompute a pull from the heat temp suitably short of my target temp. Then came the annoying over temp alarms as the meat rested and stabilized at my desired temp.
First, I unsuccessfully looked to see if another (smarter) APP was available compatible with my iGrill2. During my search I saw the MEATER 2 Plus and decided to give it a try. And, with some caveats it is superb.
The hardware part is top notch. The software needs work as the computed cook times are erratic at best, to the point where I essentially ignore them. I have had the software indicate a planned 25 deg temp rise during rest for a Turkey Breast I was roasting (no way in heck that was going to happen). I waited for the internal to climb another 10 degrees after the APP notified me to pull the breast from the oven. Final temp after resting was spot on.
The other night I was doing a Ribeye Roast with a target temp of 122 F (to me this is about perfect rare). Even though the roast was almost 3 inches thick the APP looked like it was planning on only 5 deg carryover (way too little). I pulled it 9 minutes early according to the APP and the final temp after resting was 123 F, 1 deg over my target.
So, while the hardware is great, if you want to get consistent results you need to do your homework and call the shots yourself.

This is a well-built thermometer, and the concept is great. Having info on your phone to monitor temps is very convenient. I’m very experienced at outdoor cooking and have used many thermometers over the years. They all work very well but not having wires to contend with is really nice. The temp readings seem to be accurate, and I like the feature that takes the internal temp from 5 points in the meat. Overall, this thing is neat. However, you cannot depend on the time remaining feature. It’s all over the place and will vary several hours over a 6 or 8- or 12-hour cook. I have no idea why it fluctuates so much but it does. I don’t really rely on that feature anyway because I’ve cooked enough to have a pretty good idea how long things take to cook. This thermometer doesn’t work well with ribs either. They’re just too thin a cut of meat for the probe to give accurate readings especially for the time remaining feature. At first, it’ll tell you there’s 1 1/2 hours remaining then in the middle of the cook it’ll tell you 3 hours remaining. Then near the end of the cook it’ll give you the proper time remaining, but it’ll be for the last hour or so of the cook.
Overall, I do like having this. It does give an accurate internal temp and the ambient temp is pretty close too. For my needs, it’s fine and I like it. But it doesn’t do everything it’s advertised to do. One other thing to note is if you don’t have two iPhones or an iPad you won’t be able to use the Bluetooth feature. I have an iPhone but we use a kindle fire and it won’t connect with it. Wish they’d come up with a better plan for that because Bluetooth would be nice to have to increase the range. As it is, the range on mine is about 50 feet.

I am a bad cook and love meat. With this my meet always turns up great!!! And also is a great gift if you want to impress friends!

Won’t regret. I have the first MEATER and now I ordered this, this one has better measurements!

This is the third generation of the meter, and it works very very well. In eliminate you ruining over cooking food in the oven around in the grill and let you be significant distance from the food being cooked the increased resistance to higher temperature is a plus although I never really went over 500° on my outside grill or oven but I would take the extra protection over the older models wireless signal isn’t great in an enclosed grill cover but it doesn’t workYou just have to position a tablet or a laptop within 12 to 15 feet of the connector
