Pros, really like the look of this toaster. Black, stainless steel inside, toasts bagels and bread equally well. Controls are nice and simple. Cons, I really dislike that the outside of the toaster, made of plastic, it cheapens the product itself. Overall very pleased with this purchase. I would recommend if you needed a big slot, four slice toaster.

This is a great toaster with 1 flaw. I would not recommend this toaster with families with small children. The top of the toaster is chrome and gets very hot and it is way too easy to get burned while you’re taking out what you have just toasted.

Had to replace my old B & D 4 slot toaster. I broke one of the knobs off when I was putting it back in the cabinet. No way to fix it. I liked that old toaster!
I tried a number of toasters before getting the B & D. It was cheaper than the fancy looking ones and did a LOT better job than ones costing as much as 3X more.
This new toaster (TR1410BD) is great! Super easy to use. Nice controls and most important – it toasts bread and bagels perfectly. Pretty quick too. I have not tried the defrost cycle.
It is perfect for me and the price is very reasonable. Yeah, it does not look like a fancy stainless model, but I bought this to toast things, not to stare at.
Buy it, you won’t be disappointed. And NO, I was not compensated for this review.

This 4 slice toaster has a 2 year warranty. I registered via Black+Decker website and save proof of purchase. This item is a replacement for an existing Black+Decker, that we had for several years and used every morning. The existing one was still working, but some heating elements were not toasting evenly, and replacement was due. Having the pull out individual crumb tray drawers, is a nice feature for easy cleaning. We have his/her side as wife likes hers light and mine, darker. This toaster does what it says it is supposed to do. Our previous Black+Decker was a real work horse and only made sense, we buy the same brand. This toaster is made in China, which is normal these days, and corporate office is in Middleton, WI. Model # is TR1410BD.

We’ve only used this toaster a handful of times so far but I’m already completely satisfied.
Obviously, it’s a 4-slice toaster which makes it perfect for most couples. It has easy to see controls and they’re very intuitive. Buttons for “Cancel”, “Frozen Items” and “Bagel” with little icons to let you know what each does. The toasting level dial is also easy to read. Each side has separate controls so I can make mine how I prefer and the wife’s can be set to her preference.
The first time we used it we set both dials to 2. The 2 sides completed toasting within a few seconds of each other and the toast from both sides appeared to be toasted exactly the same. The 2 setting was just a little light so next time we set both sides to 3. The toast was cooked as you see it in the photos. Perfectly for what we like.
Also, if you cook back-to-back slices of bread the second set of slices don’t come out cooked more than the first like so many toasters do because they’re already hot. The second batch comes out just like the first on a given setting.
I’m hoping this toaster provides many years of service because it’s the best toaster I’ve ever used.

This toaster looks nice and works as it should. I was especially happy with the long cord. The last few toasters I purchased always had the cord on the side of the toaster that was furthest away from my electric outlet. Our toaster is used daily, so I don’t expect it will last longer than the usual three years or so. I do find it frustrating that so many appliances are so cheaply made these days and aren’t made to last long so that you have to frequently replace them.
Update 12/25/23: Toaster broke! It hasn’t even been one year. Not happy at all!
