This immersion blender has only 2 speeds and is not a super high wattage. It does exactly what it needs to do. It is easy to handle, easy to use, most parts are dishwasher safe, and it does a great job.

I have experience with a KitchenAide version of a immersion blender very similar to this Braun. So far they are pretty much equal in quality and functionality.
I bought this Braun to make fruit smoothies, and have used it just twice so far…. so small sample size. Early impressions are: the 2-speed motor is plenty strong enough; the device and jar are easy to clean; seems pretty ruggedly built; fits well in my hand during use – the motor buttons are easy to reach and operate; the blender shaft release buttons are easy to reach and manipulate; the cord is an appropriate length for use on a kitchen counter; haven’t used the whisk attachment.
The mixing jar included in the set is the weakest element here. The volume scale etched/printed on the side is so feint as to be almost impossible to see it. Nearly invisible! (minus 1 star) I’m considering adding some marks / numbers with a permanent marker for easier reference.
The KitchenAide version I’ve used has slots in the sides of the cutter-head’s bell shaped housing which allow for flow around and through the housing causing a nice whirlpool like action in the liquid etc you are blending; creating a strong top-to-bottom mixing action. This Braun does not have those slots, and it does not seem to produce that top-to-bottom mixing action. But I dunk and lift the blender up down and around while blending anyway. I’m no cook, so I don’t know if that sort of mixing action produce by the KA version is important to the outcome or not, or just looks cool. What I can say for certain is that using this Braun the fruit gets totally chopped/liquefied and thoroughly blended and the smoothies so far have been delicious!
I’d buy this again if needed and I recommend enthusiastically. Happy Blending!!

Honestly, I would not have bought it had it not been a Prime Day Deal. I couldn’t justify the price for a quality blender like Braun that would only be used occasionally.
I’ve been wanting an immersion blender for years to be used to puree soups like borsh or fine chop simmering sauces like my mom’s recipe for chili sauce. So, when I saw this blender on sale it was a no brainer.
Reviews of others like ATK were favorable for the Braun blenders – the 500 watt was a bit of overkill for my needs, but the 350 watt appears perfect.

Very powerful immersion blender. Nice to have the whisk as well. Works well and quickly. Would buy again. Hope it lasts a long time though.

Very little difference between the two speeds on the handle, which is difficult to attach to and remove from mixer.

I’ve had, and gotten rid onf, any number of inexpensive immersion blenders over the years. This one is a keeper. The major issue with other blenders has been that the blender to motor connection falls off with the slightest pressure. This one is designed to stay together properly. Yes, it costs as much as three times what the cheap ones do but it will provide 100% less aggravation and last you nearly forever. Not sure why all immersion blenders come with accessories like cups and whisks, I have never used them and, when tested, they’re annoying and useless.

My ancient Cuisinart stick blender finally died. I bought this based on America’s Test Kitchen’s review. I did not want a ton of bells and whistles and this is perfect. 2 speeds and very powerful, and doesn’t splash. I’m also a fan of the detachable blender and whisk, and they clean up so much better than my oldie. Had I known what I was missing I would have traded up long ago. Go for it!

If you’re in the market for a smoothie maker for morning smoothies, consider this as an alternative to other things like the Magic Bullet, or Vitamix. I’m the type of person who just wants the best of the best. I was looking at top of the line Vitamix, Kitchenaid and other full blenders, but eventually settled on this for a few reasons.
Powerful
At 350W this can blend through walnuts, frozen fruit and basically anything I throw at it. The only thing I haven’t tried are ice cubes, but I don’t doubt that it would be able to handle it.
Easy to clean.
All I do is detach the head and run under the faucet. Maybe use a bit of soap, but it’s so much easier than a full blender.
Compact.
This fits in a drawer, and takes up very little space. I can pull it out and use it within 20 seconds.
Affordable.
Compared to other smoothie makers this is at most half the price!
Quieter (much quieter!)
I considered getting an actual blender, but I’m sensitive to noise. This thing is really quiet compared to a full blender or magic bullet.
No mess!
I can’t believe how elegantly it blends things without any splatter. It’s something you just have to witness to understand. I don’t need a lid, or need to be careful to not get smoothie bits everywhere. The blending head is really really well engineered!
Not to say this is an alternative to the more powerful full blenders for everything, but for MOST things, this hand blender will have you covered. Great job, Braun!

Powerful. Works good. Wish they had a shake making head attachment. They have the blender head of course but it’s a lot to try to work thru ice cream or mix in goodies without pulverizing them like u can do with the old Hamilton Beach shake machines.

If you are a gadget person, this is fast and easy to use and clean up.
