Purchased this to replace the same model when its burner coil failed after about 10 years. The text on the volume gauge is a bit smaller/finer, but the lid opens another 15 degrees wider, which was my only frustration with the original.

As far as I know there is no other product on the market with this capacity and quarter liter/1 cup markings. If they’re still making it, I’ll be back in 10 years.

It still looks good and works great after 4 1/2 years of use. Boils water quickly. Shuts off automatically. I like the LED lighting and the fact that it’s clear glass. Easy to clean. Extremely well made.

The COSORI Speed-Boil Electric Tea Kettle has only two settings – on or off, but I knew that when I bought it. It brings 7 cool cups of water (the maximum amount recommended) to a full boil in about 7 minutes. It turns off automatically once the water reaches a full boil. The attached lid opens slowly, which significantly reduces the chance of flinging hot water when opened. It’s the first appliance of its kind I’ve owned and I’m impressed with the construction quality and performance. SAFETY NOTE: Don’t place it, or any electric kettle, under cabinets when in use. The resulting steam can cause moisture accumulation on the underside of the cabinets, which may damage them over time.

User-friendly, has a rapid heating capacity, which allows fast boiling time and has a great capacity that accommodates multiple servings.

It heats perfect and fast, it’s very nice to look at and most of all it is so quiet compared to others I have had. I give it a 5 star review!

I actually tried to replace this basic kettle with a new smart one that had temp control, scheduled start time, and keep warm function. The ‘new and improved’ one lasted less than a month before it went bezerk. So, I had to dig out this one from the donate pile to put it back on the counter. It has been used at least 1x daily for 5 years. It’s simple, and simply works.

I just received this product in the mail. I opened immediately to clean and test it.

      Packaging:
Packaging was no frills (I consider that a bonus). Two pieces of styrofoam (top and bottom) with a manual, thank you card with warranty information, and some plastic bags containing the key items (Base and Pot). The packaging was stout and more than sufficient considering I heard my mailman literally throw the amazon box at my door from around 5-6 feet away. Nothing was broken or even looked jostled.

      Cleaning:
I do not have small hands, so I was concerned about being able to reach within the pot for proper cleaning. This was quickly dashed as I was able to reach inside very easily. There are very few nooks and crannies that can harbor anything bad as well. The cleaning process was quick and painless and the pot dried easily. My only complaint is being unable to leave it upside-down to drain any excess liquid out (the lid doesn’t move out of the way). This is a minor complaint and a personal preference, so I did not remove any stars for this.

      Use:
Once dried, I filled the pot to just a bit above the max line (wasn’t paying attention). I do not recommend going any bit past that line if at all possible, as when the water came to a boil it was nearly reaching the spout. Nothing spilled out, but if you ignore the lines you will have a mess on your hands. I placed the pot, once filled, on the stand and watched it boil up, which took around 7 minutes or so. During that I touched multiple surfaces to see the heat distribution, as I want to place this somewhere slightly more delicate than my kitchen counters.

The base of the pot was just the tiniest bit warm. Not by any means a danger to any surface, and I was rather impressed by how little heat it actually held. The metal surfaces at the top and bottom were both warm to the touch, but far removed from burning skin, and probably somewhat comfortable on a cool or cold day. The glass was hot to the touch and will burn you, as expected. This is not a product to leave where children can reach it or pull it down, as it’ll cause burns and possibly cuts if the glass breaks. But I feel confident on placing it on any surface within my house and it wont cause any damage.

      Pros:
Relatively quick to boil. Quite easy to clean. Nice blue LED to tell when it’s on and when boil is reached it’ll auto-shut off within around 30 seconds (my timing). Was able to move the pot freely around on the stand and it worked no matter the direction.

      Cons:
No water temperature control. This was my only complaint, as I don’t like tea as hot as most do (especially compared to my European friends). It provides a nice heat and is an appropriate temperature for me, but being able to adjust this would be nice. This was my one star removal.

      Notes:
This is my first electric pot, so I do not know if other pots have temperature controls. If not, what are they waiting for? (safety concerns maybe?)

I rated this at 4 stars due to being a new owner and not knowing its lasting legacy as of yet, and the temperature control. As of this time (14 Sep 2019) I consider it a 5 star pot for my own needs and desires. In time I will probably come back and adjust the review accordingly.

      EDIT:
It is now 4 Nov, 2022. I have used this pot with no issues over the time I’ve had it. I have no complaints or qualms, and after re-reading my review I stand by it. The single removal of the star, I venture, could easily be just a half star. If I had temperature control it would be a solid 5-star kettle. I am very happy with this device and plan on continuing to use it until it breaks, whenever that may be.

We love this kettle! It doesn’t have a lot of super fancy features, but we don’t need them. This works just fine and we’ve learned quickly when the water is hot enough before boil to use for tea. Also, it’s super fast. We’re using it for instant soups and some instant coffee (rarely), and it’s amazingly quick. Having it on the counter is great since our microwave is too tall for me (I’m a shorty) and it allows me to easily get to hot water, which we use daily. It has a nice sturdy feel and is easy to turn off with a flip of a paddle/switch at the base of the handle.

The Cosori Hot Water Kettle is an excellent product. We love the glass, love the simplicity, and absolutely love that there is NO beep. The kettle looks great, has a subtle blue light at the base of the glass kettle when heating (the blue light is great) and most importantly, it gets the water to a full rolling boil. For years we used a high end named brand stainless steel kettle that had the annoying beep and the boil barely lasted. The Cosori hot water kettle is a major step up in design and function. We highly recommend this product.
