I needed to replace my older Cuisinart coffeemaker with grinder. I was very happy with my old one, so, I decided to purchase this new one by Cuisinart. I am extremely pleased I did. While it has the same coffee making abilities the old one had, everything about this new one is so much improved. The coffee grind container is better along with the filter basket. The style of it looks better. The spout is better designed so the coffee doesn’t spill when pouring. I am very impressed and pleased.

It works. The carafe keeps the coffee hot a long time without burning it and it has a timer you can set for automatically brewing.

Please note: the basket is very small and I’m not sure who is making such weak coffee. The water gets HOT, like near boiling, scalding hot. I don’t recall ever owning a coffee maker that gets this hot. Don’t spill any fresh coffee on yourself like I did. And lastly, while the grinder sounds nice, it collects a lot of moisture and much of the fresh grounds stick to it instead of going into the basket.

I have to whack a star off for the tiny basket and the wet grinder.

First time used it freaked the dogs out! Not only do you get the coffee grinder grinding but a very loud vacuum to suck up the coffee and move it to the filter area. Excellent coffee though. Recommend taking it apart and washing with soap and water daily or the grounds jam up. Seems too flimsy to put in dishwasher though it says you can.

After you figure out how much coffee and water to use it actually makes a decent cup.
I do find that 6 of their cups equals 2 of mine.
Also cleaning this thing is a real pain. So many small parts that get really gummed up by the finely ground coffee. The carafe is very sturdy but the opening doesn’t work very well to clean because it’s too small for your hand or anything except a bottle brush. There is nothing except the insulated carafe to keep your coffee warn, it has no heat in the bottom under the carafe.
And lastly, this thing sounds like a motorcycle revving up in your kitchen.
I was going to give a 2 star but it does make good coffee.

The only affordable grind-and-brew coffee maker on the market The last identical one I had lasted more than 20 years and is still going strong. I like the water filtration capability in this model.

Highly recommended. I decided years ago to be loyal to Cuisinart appliances due to a great customer service experience so, if they’re reading this, CS does make a difference. This is my 3rd similar Cuisinart but each provided good service for a long time. I stepped back from 12 cup to 10 cup this time. I almost always only brew 6 cups but sometimes have company. I wanted the insulated pot for energy savings: the coffee brews and then the heater shuts off, but the pot keeps the coffee nice and warm. The clear pot with my old one was easier to be accurate with my 6-cup daily grind, but it only took a couple of days to figure this one out. only negative is that it’s hard to pour the last cup out of the pot, compared to old pot. Overall, excellent grinding coffeemaker, easy to use and clean.

I have owned this coffee at least six months now. Not a problem. You can use beans or ground coffee. The strength is adjustable to your taste and even the amount of coffee used.. for instance I use 7 cups water, lowest strength setting and set the grind on four cups. Makes a hot cup of coffee too and even has a water filter. Perfect so far working well and enjoy ordering different beans from Amazon.

I like to give a product time to really show it’s stuff before I review it…so I’ve had this machine since November 2023 or 5 months. I don’t typically spend this kind of money for a coffee maker but I do like fresh ground beans and my old machine and my old bean grinder ( Both made by Krupps) were both wearing out after many years of service, so I started shopping for Black Friday deals and found this machine. It LOOKS good and Cuisinart used to be a very good manufacturer so I went ahead, after looking at dozens of other machines with the specification that the machine MUST be a “grind and brew” ( eliminating the need for a separate grinder which a the time seemed like a timesaver and a good idea) I bought this one. I now live in regret. This machine is a huge hassle in every respect; I’m not sure who engineered this thing, but they need to go back to school or turn to a different career. So, let’s start with what I consider to be this machines fatal flaw; The grinder is directly above the brew area and therefore the grinder gets steamed soaking wet with every brew, it make a big mess of bean dust left from the inefficient grinder, which in the presence of steam turns, to hot mud and unless you take it our and wash it right away, that mud turns into a cement like substance that you need to either scrub or soak off. Oh yeah…and moving those VERY HOT AND DRIPPING PARTS to the sink from the coffee maker? How many times do you have to be mildly scalded in the morning before you begin to really dislike the cause? Let’s just say, its not ideal. As mentioned, the bean grinder ( the entire reason I bought this godforsaken mechanical miscarriage) is inefficient, and the grind is both too coarse and also inconsistent in texture…therefore this machine uses a LOT of beans to make a decent pot. I changed to darker roasts and added a paper filter to the provided metal screen filter in an attempt to keep the beans steeping a bit longer before the coffee drips to the urn, but it helps very little; The coffee still tastes fairly weak, and I am using about 1/3 more coffee that I had to use with my Krupps to get a decent cup of joe. Oh and the constant washing of the grinder parts? I’m watching the grinder blade get looser every time I wash it, despite being careful with it…I’m betting it’s lifespan will be under a year unless I can find a way to retighten it. Next on our problem agenda….This thing requires a water filter…not a big deal, but just an extra pain and something else to malfunction. Which it has done. About every 6-7th cycle it now demands a (chemical) cleaning and new filter; Filters are not free and have to be ordered since no store close to me carries them. Since November I have used coffee machine cleaner and replaced the filter 7 times…and considering that I only brew a pot 2 times a week this seems pretty excessive. I am getting low on the 10 pack of filters I ordered when I realized this POC was going to need a new one about every 6-8th brew cycle and given the serious flaws in this ill-engineered and over priced machine I’m not buying any more. Instead, I will donate this machine to a local charity re-sale shop and go get a new bean grinder and drip machine, probably made by Krupps, since the last coffee making items I owned that were made by them lasted at least 8 years ( maybe more, since I don’t remember exactly when I got them) It’s sad to know that Cuisinart has gone the way of so many other manufacturers, but I can’t claim to be surprised. Anyway…If you’re looking specifically for a grind and brew machine, expect to spend about $100-150 more than the cost of this machine, if you want one that is well engineered and well made. I personally am going back to grinding my beans separately ( probably with a burr grinder for a consistent grind and better efficiency , since my preferred coffee is now around $18/lb) and using a drip machine with a conical filter system

This is a good coffee maker and the coffee does taste a lot better with this coffee maker but with that being said it does require some work and extra steps are need for cleaning it every day, so if you don’t want to take the time and do the extra steps in cleaning it every day I would not recommend this coffee maker

I had this model but had to replace it after many years. The new model is slightly different in that the grinder sends the beans down to the filter to brew. This does make an extra step for clean up as the old model had the grinder built into the filter. That is my only complaint. Otherwise, the coffee is piping hot for hours in the thermal carafe. The grinder does its job so I don’t need a second step in the morning coffee ritual. The coffee tastes great and the program feature is handy when you need it. I hope it lasts as long as my previous one. Lastly, the carafe does not drip when I pour a cup of coffee like other coffee makers.
