I really appreciate the handles and rack on this roaster when making my holiday turkeys.

Had a roasting pan this size but it had a Teflon coating that pealed. Bought this one because it’s Stainless steel.

I cannot imagine anyone writing a negative review about this roasting pan. I have been looking for several years to replace the one I had purchased from Wal-Mart years ago, which is flimsy, rusted and not sturdy. All the ones I have looked at were over $100.00 and I did not want to spend that much. I saw this Cuisinart roasting pan on Amazon just before Christmas and I was shocked by the reasonable price. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I was stunned when it came the day before Christmas. It was absolutely beautiful, very sturdy and made from thick stainless steel. I live in an apartment and it held a 20 pound turkey easily and it fit in my oven perfectly. After soaking it overnight, I placed it in the dishwasher and it came out just like brand new. I do not believe any of the more expensive pans are better than this one. It completely lives up to the Cuisinart name and everything I have purchased from this company is of exceptional quality. The handles are very easy to use and are securely placed on this roasting pan. It has a lifetime warranty and I know why. I plan on using it for many years. I read a few reviews on here about getting a “used” pan. That is hard to believe, unless Amazon did this accidentally. I also read reviews about placing it on a stove. I have never used a roasting pan on a stove, nor would I. When I make gravy, I use a baster to transfer the liquid from the roasting pan to a saucepan. When I am cooking for a slew of people, I don’t use the burners I need on the stove to try to make gravy in the roasting pan. It is perplexing to me why anyone would even do this instead of just using a baster to remove the liquid needed from the roasting pan for making gravy. I highly recommend purchasing this. This is one of the best purchases I have ever made on Amazon. I don’t believe you could purchase one from a store this reasonably priced with such exceptional quality.

My “coated” roaster was chipping little bits of black in everything, and the other one warped when I tried to make gravy, so, time for a new roaster! Chose this based on Cuisinart, no coating on the pan or the rack, and the price was manageable without a second mortgage.

This roaster has made my life so much easier! One roaster for everything. Works on my oval stove burner for gravy & pan sauce – no warping. Heavy enough to hold its shape, but not too heavy to lift, even with a huge bird. The handles are substantial, wide and high enough to let you use oven mitts. Once all is done, we pop it in the dishwasher, it comes out shining, both it and the rack. Saves me hand scrubbing as I had to do previously. Makes me very happy!

I purchased this item for Thanksiving in particular, as I had always used aluminum disposables. I decided to spring for a nice durable roasting pan thinking I would start roasting my own chickens every week. That didn’t happen, but I am still thrilled with this purchase. I researched extensively this pan and the two muli-ply options from All Clad. I went this this one primarily for the price point, and the fact that it actually had better reviews than the the other brand. The other thing that pushed this to the forefront was the fact that the rack also was stainless, not non-stick, which is a factor in any cookware purchases for our household now.

I have used this pan over twenty times now since receiving it the day before Thanksgiving, even though only once using it for poultry. In that instance, despite my slight worry that it was going to be a huge pain to clean the rack, it actually worked great by following the instructions to spray the rack with something like Pam. (I used olive oil in a Misto.) I soaked the rack in dishwater for about twenty minutes after cooking and it did take time to make sure every nook and cranny was clean, but no hard scrubbing was required. The skin crisped up great, and nothing really melted on it to the extent that I questioned my decision on not doing a throw away pan.

Using this pan with rack removed is what has most impressed me, likely because I never had never been in a household to use more than disposable pans. I actually leave it easily accessible because it is not a uni-purpose as I originally assumed. I have used it to make baked pastas, and because it is so large it works great for doing two recipes in one dish. We are a two person household, and do not generally eat the same meals. So doing half baked ziti with ground beef for him and half baked ziti with veggies for me more than fits in the pan and saves on clean up time and sink space. (Yes I know cooking in the same pan is probably not an option for many mixed eating households, but in this case, I do not mind a small amount of meat maybe touching the side of my food. I just opt to not eat it.) I have used it to roast veggies mostly, and for me, I like doing it in the because I can stir them without making a mess and do not have to be as careful as with a baking sheet. Also, since the sides are so high you can just chop and toss the vegetables into the pan as you go and season and toss in place. I’ve also done one bacon wrapped meatloaf that got rave reviews (on the rack) which cooked very quickly and evenly and ended up much less greasy than having it sit in it’s fat while it cooked.

The pan cleans up great, I use stainless steel cookware all the time, so I know a quick soak means an easy clean up. While I understand most people prefer the easy wipe off of non stick, I personally prefer to err on the side of caution and would rather soak and scrub a little if required than take the health risk of the easier option. It looks to be made well, the handles are beyond heavy duty and support the weight well. The only gripe I really have, and it is so small it does not affect my rating, it that if you look at the underside of the pan you can see the rolls in the steel. As far as I can tell it is still flat and level, but you can see them. In case that bothers anyone else, I think it’s important to let that be known. I did notice this straight out of the box, but didn’t really worry about it. And for the great price, I didn’t expect it to be A.C. perfection.

This is the roasting pan I needed! I kept getting those coated ones at the store because it was all I could find. Every time the coating would start peeling after one or two uses. I went through 3-4 of those and was done. Found this stainless one and bam, problem solved. This thing is built like a tank, cleans super easy and is big enough to hold a large thanksgiving turkey.

I was looking for a pound that I could use to make lasagna without having to worry about the cheese bubbling over the sides. And this PAN is nice and deep. You can do 4 or 5 layers. It heats evenly and there’s a breeze to clean Provided you so good and don’t use scrubbing. Agents, that would cause it to be scratched

Replaced an old, cheap aluminum non-stick that long ago lost its finish. ATK’s recommendation is spot on.

Have tested this twice so far since I got it. Does exactly what I want it to do! Roasted a 3-pound chicken when I first got it, then a 12-ish pound turkey this week–all good. I didn’t make gravy after roasting the chicken (why?? Must have forgotten) but I did after the turkey and OH HECK YES I was able to put this right across two (electric) stove burners and scrape those drippings up just fine. The chicken looked hilariously puny in this size of a pan–to be honest, so did the turkey, a bit–but that makes me confident that I can use it for a 20+ pound behemoth next Thanksgiving if I want.

      Other relevant thoughts:
-I watched VERY CAREFULLY for the pitting issues some reviewers mentioned. Nothing so far! I haven’t used anything acidic in it, just in case, but I will at some point and adjust this review if needed. There were, of course, fork marks from where I made gravy, but that happens to my mixing bowls too and has never escalated into an issue. Again, if it does, I’ll update.
-The rack doesn’t quite look/feel as high quality as the pan, but so far has worked just fine. Either the rack or the pan itself is warped (gotta be the rack, or if not it’s only a slight flaw and has yet to cause any issues)–it wobbles within the pan. :/ Annoying (and the reason this review is 4 stars instead of 5), but hasn’t caused any half-cooked poultry to fling itself across my kitchen, so no worries.
-Yes, it’s dishwasher safe! I was worried about that. Ran it through on the top shelf because that’s where it fit best, used the "pots and pans" setting with my usual detergent tab, and it came out fine. No clue yet how that will work out in the long term, over years or decades, but so far so good. The rack went on the bottom shelf and came out SPOTLESS, which was nice–part of why I got rid of my old pan/rack combo was because I was still scrubbing turkey schmutz out of that thing a week after Thanksgiving last year.
-If you’re used to smaller or lower quality pans, know that this is much heavier and that it may take a few uses to get accustomed to the size and angle of the handles. You’ll probably be fine–I have moderate arthritis in my hands and was still able to move it easily–but take the weight into consideration for the first few uses. That being said, the handles are VERY useful–makes it easy to get a firm, secure grip.
-I have no idea why, at the time I’m posting this, the Amazon price is showing up at $121. I paid $60-something a month or so ago. At the price I paid, this is a good investment in functionality and size. Any higher and I’d be a little dubious, but your mileage may vary (I’m coming from a lower middle class perspective here–if spending $100+ on a roasting pan is normal for you, go for it). You’re unlikely to find it for much less than I paid, but if you do, jump on it. Good pan, worth getting.
