Let me start off by saying that my main cookware set is the Anolon Titanium set that cost $399 when we got it in 2003. I love these pans because they are heavy-duty, nonstick because of the titanium, and dishwasher safe because of the titanium. Well, I wanted to add an “everyday” sort of pan to my collection because the Anolon set is VERY heavy and takes up lots of space, so I wanted something a little ligher weight for easier handling, but still large enough to cook for larger dinner parties AND easy to clean. So we looked at 12″ pans and skillets and we decided on this one, the Cuisinart Chef’s Classic Non-Stick Hard Anodized 12-Inch Everyday Pan with Cover.
For what you get in this set…the 12″ pan and the covered lid…you cannot beat the price for the quality. For one, it uses a “quantanium” coating for its nonstick base…this is basically a nonstick coating reinforced with titanium, so it can withstand higher temps (oven safe to 500 degrees) and is scratch resistent. I don’t use metal utensils anyway, so I can’t attest to this…but it has been great so far!
The nonstick is great…makes clean up easy, which is very important to me as free time is very scarce in this household! I haven’t thrown the pan into the dishwasher, but the lid gets tossed in and it’s been fine. The pan itself cleans so easily that just a soapy nonabrasive sponge is all it takes to get the pan to brand new condition.
The pan also heats up very evenly. I cooked sauteed chicken in the pan and every single piece was evenly cooked. The pieces on the edges of the pan was just as cooked as the ones in the middle of pan. Makes for great cooking when you don’t have to fuss about repositioning the food every few minutes for even heat distribution!
I also love the short handles because I always bump into the longer skillet handles when I’m cooking up a storm and I don’t bump into this pan. I can also use this on the back burners too because of the short handles. You just can’t “toss” your food like you can with a skillet. Use a towel or oven mitt when you touch the handles or the lid because they do get hot…but that’s fine with me anyway because I don’t like getting hot grease splattered on my hands anyway!
Overall, I am very impressed with this pan, and at a fraction of the price of similar items and nowhere near the cost of my Anolon Titanium set, it’s a bargain!

I bought this pan specifically because the handles on either side were advertised as cool grip when used on the stovetop. THey definitely are not. I do love having the shorter handles, because they stay out of hte way when there are multiple pans going, but you definitely do not want to pick them up without oven mitts. That claim should be removed.

I replaced my old pan with this one. I love the size, the lid, the height of the sides and how easy it is to clean. I use this pan almost every day.

I bought this to replace my old version of this same pan. I’ve had it about eight years I’d say and use it multiple times a week.
It’s a versatile pan — wide and flat with sloping sides and a good, clear lid, it is terrific for a few pancakes or burgers, rice and egg dishes, paella, or a couple of grilled cheese sandwiches.
The non-stick surface is durable. It has definitely not been molly-coddled in this house but has, like I said, lasted eight years! Finally I started noticing things begin to stick in the center of the pan and, when I replaced it with the same model, noticed there are a few changes, most noticeably it is about half an inch more shallow. That does not affect how I use it. I never filled the thing to the rim anyway. The surface cooking area is the same and, if anything, it may be of higher quality. The manufacturer says the nonstick coating is more durable but I have yet to run it through its paces. I’ve had this new version a couple of months and will update if there are any performance problems. So far, though, I could not be happier with my (new) old friend.

We’ve had this skillet for 5 months, use it almost daily, and love it. It’s really good for heat distribution and for the effective non-stick surface. I like the handles because they allow me to more easily pick up the skillet with both hands when transferring between oven and stove and because the short handles make storage easier. My husband prefers a traditional single long handle so he can pick up the pan with one hand when he’s pouring from the pan into something he needs to hold with his other hand. Anyway, we’d both prefer the handle on the lid to be shorter so we could store the skillet with the lid upside down without the lid handle hitting the skillet surface, allowing us to stack another skillet on top. However, that’s a trivial issue. We are very happy with this purchase and highly recommend this skillet.

This is a versatile pan and a long-time favorite, especially for breakfast eggs over easy. Love the two easy-to-grab handles that fit in the pan drawer perfectly. Not surprisingly, its weak point is the non-stick surface. The pans are only non-stick for about 4-5 years before they need to be replaced. Still, the price point makes their replacement easier. Wish Cuisinart still made the 8″ version of this; would have bought both at the same time.

This could be THE BEST pan I’ve ever owned. It is so versatile and I use it for many dishes. What I love most about it is sear meats in it and then go straight to the oven to finish them off. Old classics like Toad In The Hole slide right out of this pan. Stir fry’s are a snap! If I had anything negative at all to say about this pan it would be that, sadly, it’s not compatible with induction. I think you’ll love this pan as much as I do.

Love this pan. Nothing seems to stick in it and it cooks evenly.
