Decided on this one instead of the more expensive one. I got it in red. It’s not only beautiful, it’s easy to clean and cooks well sealing in flavor. The lid fits perfectly and the bottom is flat which helps with even distribution of heat tgrough the cast iron.

Affordable in terms of dutch ovens, and fairly durable. I like cooking with it, and I hope it sticks around my kitchen for a good long while.

As long as I don’t forget that the stove is on overnight and wake up to a smoky apartment and carbonized vegetables again, I think it’ll do just that.

Never could figure out why people spend crazy amounts of money on basic kitchen items like these. This is an extremely well made, attractive Dutch oven that cooks evenly and is large enough for 95% of your needs. It cleans up fast and the ceramic coating is strong. I have owned much more expensive Dutch ovens in the past (I scratch cook all of my own meals) and I can definitely say that this does the job just as well as any I’ve used. Don’t waste your money on “designer” cookware, buy what works at a reasonable price like this pot does.

First enameled cast iron and I was nervous about anything other than Le Creuset given their reputation, but I wasn’t willing to pay that much. Have had this Cuisinart one for 3 months with heavy use (at least 1-2x per week) and I’m so impressed. Very easy to clean, cooks evenly. If any complaint had to be waged, it’s heavy, but so are all cast iron and I’m not usually lifting it except to dump leftover sauces. LOVE LOVE it

I always wondered why people raved about cast iron enameled dutch ovens- And now i know! I watched several videos on YouTube and this one was ranked in the top three, coming in second on America’s Test video to the horrendously expensive Le Le Creuset…. When it arrived, it did have two tiny pen point chips on the rim, but I really don’t see how to avoid that with this type of material. … I was stunned at the wide bottom and depth- Which meant it has way more cooking capacity than I expected! I compared it to a stainless steel 8 qt. pot, and in actual cooking surface, there is no comparison! Being heavy, yes, it is a little more of a struggle to wash and rinse, but to actually cook in it is a dream! If you’ve always had trouble fitting the food you want to cook into a pot and had to do it in shifts, I really think THIS one will accommodate nearly everything you want to cook. It’s more beautiful than the picture- A more blue toned Strawberry type red than an orange red. I love it. I expect to use it all the time!

Not the cheapest or most expensive one of these I looked at but done just as well as the more costly ones. No sharp surface anomalies to scratch your work surfaces, cleans up very easily and is so much more durable that the high-tech polymer coatings, regardless of what their makers claim. This is something you can buy and use for decades. The inside is very smooth and the lighter color makes it easy to see what you’re doing in there, unlike the typically dark "non-stick" polymer coatings. You can forget you’re carmelizing onions and still wipe out the gooey brown stuff easily. It’s heavy, compared to aluminum or stainless, but the cast iron conducts heat very evenly and the cast iron won’t flex and allow the coating to crack. It’s also very attractive sitting in the kitchen, is very nicely finished and there are no unnecessary and useless design features to go out of style – a "timeless design." This is a real, old-fashioned value – an attractive, functional and useful tool you can buy once and use for decades to come – which makes it a very good value. This size (3Qt) is ideal for the two of us. Choose the color carefully – you’ll be "stuck" with it for a long time.

was a gift… was perfect. excellent packaging

This received 2nd place, a “best buy”, from America’s Test Kitchen. That award is certainly deserved. This Dutch oven is a great value compared to the $400 winner of that review.

This Dutch oven (that’s what I call it) has performed beautifully since I bought it in 2019. I am writing a review now after revisiting the product description and noting the weight given as 16 ounces/1 pound. I am looking for a lighter weight replacement because of back issues I’ve developed over the past year. The actual weight is 17 pounds 3 ounces. Not an issue for most users I am sure, but something to be aware of when buying this. That is the only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5.

I specifically needed this because I wanted to cook a LARGE batch of Corned Beef. I was able to sear the two flats I had (separately) and fit them both in the bottom of the pan (together, side by side). All in all, I had 6.5 lbs of meat in that pan resting flat. 4 hours in a 300 degree oven and presto, PERFECT corned beef. It’s not dry. It’s not fallen apart, it’s not chewy. Exactly the tenderness it needed to be. I’ve never done that with my 5Q Lodge DO… Always too “something”. Tough, fallen apart, dry. SOMETHING. The right pan for the right job and this is it for 1/3 the price. I’ve had nothing but good results with Cuisinart pans. Cast Iron, Stainless, whatever. Save a butt load of money and get a GREAT pan.
