Every day I have a perfect coffee or cappuccino with fresh ground beans. It’s so easy and delicious! I have been using this for almost 3 months now and have not had any issues with machine. I am completely satisfied with it.

I bought this machine to replace my previous Delongi Magnifica machine that I owned for over 10 years. The old one failed because I didn’t follow the instructions and clean it as often as I should have. The fact that it lasted over 10 years is amazing. They’ve made some improvements to this version, including a better water spillage tank. The use of the buttons on the front is super easy. It’s also a lot quieter than my previous machine. I love the fact that I can buy good quality espresso beans, and the machine grinds them and tamps them and makes wonderful espresso with beautiful creama. I really don’t have to do anything other than descale it when it tells me to, and clean the infuser once per month. My old machine failed because I did not clean the infuser every month because it always seemed like it didn’t get dirty! I’m going to make sure I clean the infuser every month on the new one.

I have had quite a few espresso machines over the years. I have assembled large commercial machines and used simple Vietnameese fins. I paid full price for this new machine. My last machine was a Gamea Revo and I got almost 20K cups of coffee out of it before it started to fall apart. I was on the fence between ordering the DeLonghi Evo or the Start. The Evo has been around for a while and is more expensive. But it is on sale for half price. The Start is a new machine that is slightly more than the Evo sale price. It has less buttons and bells and whistles. But it has several distinct advantages. First it comes with a 2 year warranty which can be extended to 3 years just by registering the machine. So no need to purchase an extended warranty. I did not opt for the automatic milk frother because my wife and I drink our coffees black. This machine was easy to setup and required only a few test cups to get the brew right. The grinder was set up perfect to begin with. I also programned the buttons for my preferences including strongest coffee setting. Once set it makes consistent great coffee. The crema is about .5 inches. The coffee comes out hot. There is an auto off feature which you can set from 15 min to 3 hours. My last fancy machine had all kinds of programming but no auto off. It is very valuable to save the life of your boiler. It holds lots of beans (1/4 pound) but not too much water (5-6 cups) but is easy to refill the water without removing the water tank entirely. There are visual warnings as well as beeps for any problems (like water low, beans low, tray missing, etc.) but not constant beeping just one beep and a red pictograph of the problem. So, I am very happy with the machine. My wife gets up at 4am and has her coffee before leaving for work. This machine does not have auto on but starts up in less than one minute (if you turn off the energy saving option). She is very happy with this simple to operate esperesso machine that makes great coffe or Americano. The design is excellent with less to go wrong. It is narrow but just as deep and tall as most macines. So it takes up less linear counter space. I hope it lasts as long as my last machine.

I was a Starbucks Barista for 5+ yrs, and still drink a quad espresso daily. Since leaving Sbux (and losing the discount), I’ve used a Cusinart EM-200NP1 for the last 10 yrs. Wonderful machine, but is manual, requires a separate grinder, and doesn’t quite match the quality of the coffee shop. Amazon suggested this DeLonghi and with the Prime Day deal, decided to level up… HOMERUN!!! I’ve always known DeLonghi was a top tier brand, but never imagined a basic home machine could provide this level of quality with such ease. Out of the box, it was simple to prime and calibrate the grind, and within about 15 mintues, I was pulling quality shots worthy of any green apron! Perfect crema, smooth body.. and with the grinding/pod disposal all internal, the thing is a breeze! Given the ease of use, quality, and the savings of not paying coffee shop prices, this machine is worth it’s weight in gold! You get what you pay for, so spend the money!!

Upset that the pre-ground beans setting does not work, otherwise this machine would be perfect.

I’ve followed the directions, watched YouTube videos, and searched Google and cannot find a solution to this.

It came with a detached spring. Not sure where the spring belongs so I had to return because I didn’t want it to have issues down the road. Annoying return process because you can’t do a replacement for some reason and it says 30 days to get money back. Wasn’t expecting bad QA from this brand or price point.

The two issues I had was :
1: it keeps randomly spitting hot water into the milk instead of steam when I try to froth. Sometimes it is steam, sometimes it is water instead. Wasted a lot of milk. 2: extremely annoying that filter was NOT included. Instructions say use the included filter, but there was none. Im sorry when one buys a new machine, one is not expecting to order parts separately to start using it!! 3: it looked like it had been opened and repacked /returned before I received it. Not worn down or used for years but obviously repackaged and grinder had coffee pcs. I wondered if the water spitting issue caused someone to return. It does make great espresso and coffee and is very easy to use, not complicated and it is a good looking machine. For me though, not reliably frothing milk is a dealbreaker and I disliked a lot that it had been somewhere before.

We love this machine in our office. It makes a smooth cup of coffee. You can make an americano or a latte. It’s easy to descale as well. I have recommended this machine to friends for home and they love it as well.
