Bought this for the convenience and it is convenient— if you drink one of the drinks pre-programmed on the screen. The drinks it makes are just fine. But If you want to make just frothed milk for example you can’t, you have to click “cappuccino” or “latte macchiato” then click it to stop it from making the espresso. It is also very tedious to adjust to your liking. A digital screen would have been sufficient especially at this price point. Instead all you get is lights and icons like an old car dashboard.
I read the entire manual 3 times to make sure I didn’t miss anything. It’s a lot of information being thrown at you. Definitely must read if you plan on using it properly.
Overall for the price, I am disappointed in the lack of features. There are other alternatives for less money.

When in Croatia, our friend had this coffee machine and having morning coffee was so much better than the k cups I used at home, and even better than my pot of coffee (which I thought was delicious!). I had no idea that coffee could taste so good – from home! When we went to Rome, the hotel also had this machine and we enjoyed our coffee and took our time enjoying how smooth and not bitter. And we can choose which coffee/strength we each want, in minutes. We gave away our K machine, all the cups, and couldn’t be happier. It was so easy to set up, and we made coffee right away. Easy to use, and makes the best coffee, and we are so happy we purchased this.

I am new at using any espresso machine and I was hesitant at first (the manual can be scary). My fear was gone the first day I set up my Magnifica Start. I followed the instructions and by day two I was making double espressos and cappuccinos. I found the Quick Start manual to be very helpful (but also read the entire manual). It is a joy to use and easy to clean. You must follow its prompts and clean after each milk type drink! The display panel is wonderful and simple. The frother is spectacular. My cappuccinos were so beautiful that I had to order clear glass cups to enjoy them. Highly recommend this machine.

I already had two de longhi in the past and bought this one to renew mine which was still working. This machine has built in auto cleaning functions and brew tasty capuccinos.

If you don’t want to become a certified barista, this is your machine. It’s more automated that every espresso machine out there, it grinds and packs the coffee. It also gives you the choices between hot water for teas, you can make the best cup of coffee, espresso, lattes, steam milk and makes a perfect froth for your lattes. Yes it is a bit pricey but you’ll never ever have go to a over expensive coffee shop and have to tip someone for a crap coffee ever again 😀.

I really wanted to like this but the infuser installed to our machine was not a correct type of infuser.
The shape is different from the one shown in user’s manual. The angle installed was different too.
We couldn’t remove the infuser.
Very disappointed since I was so looking forward to enjoying good espresso.

Okay, so first of all this thing is huge. I previously had a delonghi Nespresso latissima one and loved it until the pump broke after a power outage on a cold winter night. I bought a Mr. Coffee latte maker for a lower price and was disappointed so went back to delonghi. The milk frother makes such amazingly smooth and velvety foam, better than any other brand I’ve tried. This machine lives up to that reputation, the coffee is even more bold and rich than the Nespresso latissima one, but the milk comes out like a thick creamy cloud. Perfect coffee. Only con is this thing is like 3x the size of my latissima one. I mean it is big. But for not having to grind beans and clean out the espresso basket between every cup, not having to buy pods, and being able to make just a regular coffee when I want, it’s well worth the counter space it occupies.
