Simple to use, accurate enough. It’s a hoot to measure things, like pizza from the oven, the oven, the ceiling temperature, my coffee cup, my wife, me, the plants in the windows, the car seat, the AC duct, the AC lines,…

Go crazy! (btw, the laser is OK, but I never use it.)

Works very well super amazed how efficient it is and price. You will like it!

It gives a pretty accurate reading, but it takes a couple seconds to display the temperature. Laser dot makes getting readings exactly where you want them. Can’t beat it with 4½ Stars with over 1,700 ratings and a price of $8.98.

It’s not always the most accurate device. It’s definitely good if you’ve used a probe thermometer first on the things you’ll usually use this for so that you can understand the difference in what readings you’ll get when using the handheld device.
For instance, if I know that heating water on a hotplate on the 5 setting gives me 200 degrees consistently when using the probe thermometer but also gives me 185 on the infrared, then I know that the 185 that I get on the handheld infrared device is what I’m looking for. At that point, projects move much quicker.
I’m just saying…don’t trust this to be the 100% accurate reading. Learn your device’s tolerances.

Have used this almost everyday since getting it. Checking the temperature of all kinds of thing. Checkinging for “hot spots” in my carbon steel and cast iron cookware. The temp of air being pushed out by the A/C unit. Even the surface temps of my laptop, which is running 64GB of RAM inside. It appears to be accurate, but with nothing to check that with, I’ll just have to trust it.

There is nothing I dislike, and everything to like in this handy useful gadget. I am using it for kitchen, woodfired stove and have been impressed with accuracy and ease of use. Point at what you want measured, and voila.Temp read out defaults to Celsius, but one click fixes and so not a problem.

Its accurate to about 10 degrees Fahrenheit. I tested it in conjuntion with a meat thermometer in water as well as on my fluke hvac temperature reader. Its close, about 3 dgrees cooler than both at 5″ and about 10 degrees colder at 5 feet. Overall for $8 im happy. Its pretty fast at reading and its small, uses aaa batteries and seems pretty sturdy.

    9. Braeden

This thermometer is great. I use it for my wood fired pizza oven. The laser on it makes it easy to pinpoint the exact area of where you want to gauge the temperature. It’s also fun to point it at different stuff to see what the temperature is. The backlight has a toggle to turn it on and off. I like this because I can turn on the backlight when I’m cooking pizzas at night or use it without the backlight during the day. Overall it’s a great thermometer and well worth it

I use this with the Ooni koda 12. It works like a charm: very quick reads, high quality materials, and ergonomic handle. Only small issue is that it defaults to Celsius temperatures and I haven’t figured out how to program it to begin with Fahrenheit. It’s one button to change the reading type, but just a small inconvenience.
