This buffet server is fantastic. This is the one you want to buy. If you are going to do any type of get-together/party and want to serve real, hot food. I was lucky to get it on sale. But as good as this is I would have paid full price for it. I actually bought two of them.

I wanted for the first time in my life to host a Thanksgiving dinner. When I talked to anyone about it, they all said getting all the different foods to be hot at the same time was a real difficult feat to pull off. Especially if you were making some of the foods in advance.
So I started reading lots of reviews and researched everything I could about serving Buffets. Each serving buffet I read about, said it was crucial to have the food hot first. THEN put it in the serving tray so it would stay hot. The Buffett is not designed to heat up the food. It is designed to maintain the food at the level of heat you start with.

Well this model has steel serving trays that are sturdy just like a cooking pot it does not bend. I put the pre-prepared food in the serving tray covered it with Tin foil and then put it directly in the oven to heat it up. Once it was hot THEN I placed the serving tray in the Buffett warming tray. I served turkey, baked potatoes, candied yams, stuffing, roasted green beans with melted cheese, and gravy. Each and every dish was nice and hot even when people came back for seconds and thirds. This warming tray maintained the perfect temperature for 6 hours. Nothing was dried out, or over cooked or soggy. It was perfect. I could not have asked for more.

      1. Serving trays are made of steel very sturdy they do not bend and they are dishwasher safe easy to clean
      2. There are 3 steel serving trays, each tray has a see thru dome lid with a handle and a slot to put a serving spoon thru
      3. This unit has a light that tells you it is on or off so you are sure when it is working.
      4. It has 3 levels of settings for temperature control, low medium and high
      5. This buffet has a very short electric cord this is in fact a safety feature.
      6. This particular model can be used in 3 different ways
A use serving trays with dome tops for Buffett as I did
B you can cook a pasta dish in the large tray with handles and then serve directly from that tray
C if you have hors d’oeuvres use the bottom tray that is the warming tray to keep them warm and serve them warm
      D. Read the manual it will take all of 3 minutes it is short and to the point explains everything clearly.

At first glance it Is not obvious you have 3 different ways to use this Buffet. Once you understand how versatile it is you may decide like me, that one is not enough.

One star off because it came a little damaged, but that’s nothing to do with the product-One corner was bent, but product still readily usable. I purchased it for a huge party and it worked great! Like the directions say, make sure you put the food already warm or hot into the server. Food stayed hot the entire time of the party! There are three temperature adjustments, which is helpful. It holds an amazing amount of food in the three bins! Does not take up much storage room when put back together in the cardboard box for storage. Overall I’m happy with the purchase and it is a good value. Please note, however, that the metal is thin of the bins and also the bin holder so must use care and caution when using and cleaning.

      *** Why I need these ***

I purchased two of these 3-container, 7.5 quart electric buffet warmers. We often host holiday dinners, and these allow me to get a lot of the meal ready before they arrive.

      *** Electric vs. steam ***

I had previously been using steam chafing dishes. They held the same amount of food, but they were a giant PITA. IMO, these electric Elite Gourmet warmers are far superior for the following reasons.

=> Steam versions use cans of expensive liquid/gel fuel, which only last two hours. With these, as long as you have electricity, you’re good to go.

=> Steam versions don’t have individual lids. Guests had to pick up a giant stainless-steel lid, and spill a half cup of water that had no doubt collected under the lid. This electric warmer not only has individual lids, but they’re see-though. They even have a little cut-out so you can leave the serving utensil in the container.

=> This Elite Gourmet setup is smaller and easier to store. I was careful to keep the original box(es) that these came in, and I took pictures while unpacking. Now, when we’re done, I pack everything exactly as it was. These take up less than half the space my steam decks used.

=> These electric warmers can be used with or without the included containers. Or you could use one or two, and add your own. Or you can use just the warming plate with a giant disposable aluminum foil baking pan. These are much more versatile.

      *** Why I chose Elite Gourmet ***

There are a few manufacturers that make this style of buffet warmer, and based on Amazon reviews, none are perfect. The metal is thin, the lids are relatively fragile, and the cord is short. So I looked at cost, and the little differences where Elite Gourmet beat the others.

=> The lids. The Elite Gourmet lids have actual handles, whereas some others have no real handles, just recesses in the molded plastic where you can pinch the lids to lift.

=> These are 300 watts, vs others with only 200 watts. That means these can get hotter than the others. Food needs to stay at 140 F to be safe, and although I didn’t test the actual temperature of food in these, it does seem to stay hot.

=> The frame that holds the containers on the hot plate is riveted instead of spot-welded. It looks better, and I believe it will last longer.

      *** Bottom Line ***

At this time, I think these Elite Gourmet triple tray buffet servers are the best deal out there. There’s no liquid fuel to buy, no water dripping everywhere, and you can use the hot plate part of it with or without any number of the included pans. You can see what’s in the pan with the lid on, and leave the serving utensil in the pan with the lid on.

      I hope this helps.

It came with no damage, very shiny. Easy to use. Used it for a family get together. It held enough food and could’ve added more food if needed to. You can see in the photo I had 4 cans of green beans, 2 family packs of Bob Evans mashed potatoes, and a 3 lb meatloaf with gravy on the bottom. The lids fit nicely. The hot plate gets really hot as well. Worked great. I would like to get a second one to use both for thanks giving.
