Lid won’t latch closed. Auto shutoff does not work. Heats quickly, but you have to stand there and watch it because it wonl’t self shut off. Quite loud as it comes up to boil. Sides are hot to touch. Balance and weight is great. Too bad about the lid and shutoff because those are big problems. But, if those worked and if you can stand the noise, it’s really a nice pot.

Went to get another one shortly after buying mine and the price doubled!! 😮 … It’s a great unit and most likely worth it, but doubling of the price within a 10 day period is crazy.

I love this kettle. It is a commercial kettle with a thee prong plug. Commercial kettles I read have an extra inspection step so I feel more assured there won’t be a fire from cheap components or workmanship. I did remove the plastic spout screen because I don’t want my boiling water touching plastic. When I fill the kettle to the 1 liter mark it does not overflow out the spout when boiling which I have read some reviews claim. I can’t remember if those reviews where for this kettle but I was mindful of it when filling it to 1liter. It’s a solid kettle and I recommend it. I am rating it as fair for the price because I paid $25 for it and immediately afterwards the price dropped to $20. I thought about returning nirvana purchasing the one for $20 but the hassle wasn’t worth $5.

The condo that I rented this past winter had an electric kettle. First time using one and we loved it. When we got home I immediately ordered the same one we had been using. Little disappointed with how long it takes to heat the water. Much slower than the one we had used over winter. Also about an hour after using you hear a click just like when it shuts off after heating.

I keep this at my desk. I fill it at the filtered water fountain at the office. It boils water super fast, faster than a stove top, maybe a minute boil. I got mine used and the top lid was broken and wouldn’t stay closed, and that looks like a likely common problem because the clip that holds the lid down is a tiny plastic tab. I like it despite that though because aside from the lid any surface liquid touches is all stainless. It doesn’t really need the lid it boils so fast.
