I am totally pleased with my electric tea pot by Hamilton Beach. Everything about it makes it really nice and easy to use and pour and rinse out. Heats fast and I do not need to use gas stove. Water is good and hot, especially for the black tea I like. We have been using it since we opened it up for Christmas. Yay! Good find and good price. Looks pretty, too.

We bought this after our older, less expensive pot died after less than two years of moderate to light use. Before that kettle, we had an all-stainless steel Hamilton Beach electric kettle that lasted more than ten years. That is why we decided to try another HB. We have now been using it for several months and love the temperature functions. We are hoping this one will last a long time.

While I had to mark this item down a star due to it stopped working 9 months after purchase. During those nine months it worked flawlessly and was one of my wife’s favorite items in the kitchen. However, when it simply stopped working we were disappointed. I thought I’d try to reach out to Hamilton Beach customer service. Pleasantly surprised that within a few minutes of sending an email I received a reply. A request for a few pieces of information of the unit and we were told a replacement would be shipping to us. Can’t say enough about their fantastic customer service.

This purchase replaced an old electric kettle with a plastic tank that started to leak. The stainless tank liner with a cool to the touch plastic surround should be much more durable. Controls are simple and the 1.7 liter capacity is ideal for heating water for a larger teapot. A very important feature for me is that the lid opens wide to make filling very easy. All in all, a great simple design with excellent functionality.

I love that you can actually wrap the cord into the base and it isn’t in the way when this is not in use! And this heat water quickly and holds a very large amount. If I wanted to I could just put water in it for the entire day. The only thing that I’m not sure I love is that I can’t pick a specific temperature like I want to heat to 182° specifically but maybe that’s just me. However, the way they have it set up I would rarely need to use that function. In truth, I quite love this kettle! And should it ever break down which I doubt I would buy it again!

Which is: no more licking, when pouring, looks better, digital display is no longer blinking for 30 min after kettle is turned off, but is shown for 1 min, or so. As for heating mode, I liked 100 degrees in previous version that is no longer presented here. And it looks like mode for green tea isn’t correct, for the tea is only slightly warm after brewing just for a few minutes.
Hope that the lid won’t break off so quickly, as it did in my kettle of previous version.
All in all its a good kettle

We have gone thru many of these hot water boilers and this is the easiest to maintain and best looking.
The controls are embedded behind the plastic covering so you could actually wash the outside of the pot. The lettering could scratch off if not careful washing but you only need to gently touch the surface to make setting changes. Also the lid is free from any interference if you want to wash the stainless inside and it rinses out completely free from any internal obstructions on the side or flat lid..
Temp settings are a touch setting using the printed touch area on the side instead of buttons that wear out. It has multiple heat settings for teas and full boil. So far the best performance and design we have owned and also mid-priced. Hamilton Beach has outperformed much more expensive electric pots we’ve owned. Acutally we use one of my kids old hamilton beach electric water pots from college as a spare when they finished school over 10yrs ago. We thought it was a cheap pot for the dorm but nope it lasted this long. Its just not as pretty as the new one we reviewed above.

Compared to the last brand I bought, this product is far more superior as he heats up the water much quicker, and seems to have a much more sturdy structure. My only suggestion for improvement is, they should make the temperatures more versatile where you can determine what temperature you want the water to heat up to. Instead, he has preset levels which are fine, but also limiting. Overall, this was a great purchase and much better than the previous kettle I had.

Received this electric kettle July 2023, Have used it once daily (except for a 2 week vacation) and it has worked flawlessly since… that is until this morning when it decided not to work. Unit almost reaches the set temperature and then just shuts off … no beeps, no keep warm, it just sits there NOT working. As I am past their 30 day Amazon return window I attempted to contact Hamilton Beach through their customer service … have a problem? email us NO EMAIL ADDRESS PROVIDED! .. Contact us with the problem so I tried that ” Sorry unable to process at this time please try again later! Nope I give .. poor customer service … Poor product!
UPDATE: I finally was able to reach customer service .. guess their message service is shut down on weekends .. contacted them on Monday and received a replacement kettle on Friday! That is GOOD customer service!

The pushbutton controls work flawlessly. It heats quickly, holds temperature, and signals when done.
