It’s boil water fast however the sprout is weird and leaks water easily.

This electric kettle does what it says…it boils water fast. It is really much larger than I thought it would be. 1.7L is more than I need but I will put in only what I need. When I filled it up to the 1.7l line I was sad to see the amount of water coming out of the pot while it was boiling. So it seems to me that you should never actually boil the full amount. Since I don’t need that full amount I am now filling it lower and not having that problem.

I make hot tea everyday and this electric kettle makes it so easy! It’s easy to fill and keeps the water hot for 30 minutes which is great if you want a second cup or two.

This is an awesome kettle. It heats up in no time and it looks attractive on my kitchen counter. It has a little weight to it and it seems like it may last for several years to come. I like the auto off and keep warm feature.

I’m really loving the Hamilton Beach 1.7L electric kettle. The stainless steel finish and construction looks sleek and it is super easy to clean. It is larger than I expected which is mostly a blessing, as it is great for preparing tea for a large group of people, but it can feel like overkill for a single cup here or there. It also means it it is a little taller and needs a little more counter space than some of the other options out there.

The carafe sits on a small plate that plugs in to the wall. Happy to see that it is a three-prong plug with grounding, which is not common for a lot of small appliances. It is recommended that you fill and boil water with it 3-4 times before using it for drink preparation.

The ability to heat to temps for various kids of tea and French press coffee is welcome functionality, as is the 30-minute keep-warm function. Doesn’t keep it at the exact temp, but it is close enough (stays warm at 207F for the 212F setting) and the one button temp control is super-easy to use. Power button also works but I have found it sometimes takes a couple of presses.

The only real caveat I have, and it is a minor one, is that I don’t recommend filling it to the Max Line but instead filling it slightly below the line. Otherwise, as water is reach boiling temps, a little bit of hot water is prone to spit out of the pour spout.

You can see a temperature probe poking up inside the pitcher, but otherwise it’s very similar to my last one (that wasn’t this fancy). My last one just had on/off (it’d always go until the water boiled). This one allows you to set the temperature (press the thermometer button to cycle through the options) and then you just press power to start it going (or if you don’t want to change the temp from last time, just fill, set it on the base, and press power – super easy).

I like the different water temperatures. You can pick the one best for your desired drink (since different teas are considered best at different temperatures), or pick a cooler one if you don’t want to wait for something to cool (ie if you’re doing hot chocolate you don’t need to boil the water so much as just heat it up to a fairly high temp – which will save a good amount of power since most is used pushing it over the edge from hot to boiling).

The lid doesn’t come fully up (as with any of these) so your best cleaning method will be vinegar to remove scale (though really, since you should just be heating water there won’t be much cleaning to do beyond scale removal).

This is more compact or vertical than my last one – makes it nicer on the counter (it’s more or less a cylinder – it doesn’t have a big base thinning out as it goes up).
I also like the gunmetal color. Very slick.

So yes, it’s easy to use, heats up fast, has a lot of options, but you can also just put water in and press power.

At first I thought it would be with small buttons that look like fake touch buttons. To my surprise it is indeed with touch buttons. Design and quality feels premium.

I’ve had good experiences with Hamilton Beach appliances throughout the years and this electric hot water kettle proves to be yet another great product and is living up to its’ name! I’m a daily tea drinker and prepare multiple bottles of formula day and night for my grandson so absolutely cannot live without a hot water kettle. My last one just quit working out of nowhere one morning, so I needed to replace it. This like that it’s stainless steel and not entirely plastic, is very sturdy, yet lightweight so it’s easy to steady and pour. It holds more than my last one did, has the capability of reaching boiling temperature and amazingly heats up twice as fast! It has multiple digital settings that are really easy to use and navigate, including precise temperature control and “keep warm” function. We use the latter the most and have found it be the perfect “pour and drink” temperature! Overall, I highly recommend this reasonably priced, great kettle from a reputable, well-known name brand!

Fast heating, Boils water within 5 mins, sits well on my countertop. Good quality, not cheap at all. Cool to the touch. A bit loud but that’s expected when boiling. Beeps when complete.
