Great kettle! I use it every morning for my tea. I would have given 5 stars, however my unit had a design flaw with the push button lid. It does not open easily, you have to open it while either in the pouring position or you have to make sure you pull back with your fingernail as you’re pushing the button down.
For those that are talking about corrosion or leaking. I’ve never had that issue, but I drain my kettle and wipe out excess water every day. The kettle should not be left for long periods with water sitting in it, that is not good for any appliance.

This works just amazingly. Much bigger than my old water kettle and heats the water super fast. Seems pretty easy to clean and easy to operate. Also the copper color is so pretty and makes it feel a bit more fancy.

The kettle failed within the 1 year warranty period, but i did not notify the manufacturer of the failure until after the warranty expired. We missed the warranty expiration by 6 days. HB would not honor the warranty.

Kettle is leaking at the bottom, which deposits water on electrical base plate, spilling over to the countertop.
I do not leave the lid open and do not overfill the kettle, which is mentioned as a leading cause of leakage on Amazon.
There is a phone number listed on Amazon, which when called, directs the caller to the web site and then hangs up.
When logging on to the web site, there is no phone number available to call. Rather, there is a provision to write a note to the support staff for their return message.
I consider this process to be insufficient for quality customer care, and suggests by their procedures that the company does NOT value the satisfaction of their customers with easy access to their customer support staff.
It is noteworthy that Amazon has provided self-help specifically for leakage problems, suggesting that this is a common complaint and manufacturing flaw of this product.
Moreover, this product is no longer available on Amazon, so an identical swap is not possible.
We’ll see if the company responds to my request for a replacement of a similar product with the same features.
No warranty claims have been made so far. That may be another issue that is complicated by design.

So many reviewers complain about corrosion or “rust” on the bottom heating element, but may not have read the instructions, which say that corrosion on the stainless steel is normal, due to the calcium in the hard water supply. The kettle has a spout filter to prevent these accumulated particles from pouring into your tea cup, which should be cleaned at regular intervals, as should the kettle itself. The instructions mention how to clean this appliance. Perhaps, some of these reviewers should consider reading the instructions before complaining. It does a disservice to other shoppers when reviewers are uninformed and mislead shoppers with unwarranted negative reviews.
One thing that the instructions clarify is the “keep warm” feature. This is slightly vague in the product description on the listing. The instructions say that this feature keeps the water temperature at the specific heat setting selected when first engaging the kettle. The kettle keeps this specific temperature for 30 minutes, or when the kettle is removed from the base, whichever occurs first. When replacing the kettle on the base, to keep the temperature constant, one has to reset the temperature settings over again.
Heating is quite fast and quiet. The kettle beeps once the temperature is reached, although not very loud, perhaps a good thing that it is not annoying.
Power cord coils under base as needed to shorten it to prevent extra wire on your counter. Extra length of power cord has a tendency to push base around counter because power cord is stiff and base portion is lightweight, so coiling up extra cord underneath base makes for a tidy presentation on your counter.
I bought two of these items used in “as new” condition from Amazon Warehouse. One was leaking and discolored, which i returned, the second one is under preliminary test. I’m keeping the box in case in case the second used one fails. To be prepared as a back up, i bought another one new so i shouldn’t have any issues with defective items being pawned off on me “as new.” the defective item was very carefully packaged to appear as new, probably by the prior purchaser. It wasn’t worth the $10 savings to buy a used one for the hassle of having to return it to my local UPS store because now Amazon won’t pick it up for free anymore. They’re charging $7.95 for a UPS pickup, no matter the cause or price of the item being returned. This has changed my purchase policy and practices.
Amazon shoppers should be aware that some customers are scammers who carefully disguise their misbehavior by trickery. These instances are somewhat common, so reviewers should realize that product defects may not be the fault of the manufacturer, but those instances where Amazon personnel do not detect a defective or abused item. Simply return the item for a replacement or refund. Save the box and shipping materials for 30 days.

I was leery at first about the digital features on this tea kettle. I had a very basic Hamilton Beach kettle that I got at a garage sale and that survived 10 years of daily use, and thought that the temp settings on this would likely cut its lifespan to a fraction of the old pot’s run. But after being able to use a setting that will bring the water to the ideal temperature for my french press, I’ve stopped caring about how long it will last – I just love that it makes a perfect pot of coffee right now!

It looked nice but it was just a polished turd. It leaks from multiple places. It can’t do one of the two things it has to do hold water and heat it up. Wasn’t able to return it because it broke just outside of the return date. So now I’m stuck with a shiny turd and I’ll never buy from Hamilton beach again

My husband and I started drinking tea and we were just boiling water in a pot and saw this. It is worth every penny. You can see the water line from the outside so you fill it up with the perfect amount for the number cups you’re making. It heats up very fast and beeps to let you know its done. It also has different heat settings for the different kinds of tea you can make! Very neat. We use it all the time and it shows no signs of slowing down.
