I had been a Tassimo user since 2005. My first machine lasted 7 years, and I loved the coffee. After the first machine died (it just stopped turning on), I immediately purchased another.

Over the years, it’s become increasingly harder to get pods for the Tassimo, especially the Extra Bold line. I didn’t want to be limited to only getting refills on Amazon, and also being limited to a very small variety of brands and flavors. I decided it was time for a change.

Like many, I was initially unimpressed with Keurig. The machines seemed cheap, and many reviews have said that they only last for a year with daily use. I always found the Green Mountain brand pods to be exceptionally bitter, and the machines never produced really hot water (if you add cream/milk it will be luke-warm). Perhaps my views are jaded from bad experiences in the past, but I knew I wanted to get a commercial quality brewer and that’s how I found the K155.

Fast forward to today. I’ve been using the K155 for two weeks now and absolutely love it. It’s heavy and seems to be built to take abuse. It holds 90oz of water, which reduces the frequency of refilling. There’s about a 3 minute warm-up time in the mornings, but subsequent cups will be much faster.

Using the machine is dead simple – just put in a pod, select your cup size, and hit brew. If you just want hot water, you can press brew without a pod inserted and the machine will dispense it.

As for the coffee, it’s been very good! Keurig includes a 12-pod variety pack with the brewer, and I’ve also purchased some more at the supermarket. I love the McDonalds McCafe French Roast – it’s an incredibly smooth dark roast that is delicious with cream. My girlfriend loves the Donut Shop, which is a medium roast akin to Dunkin Donuts. For flavored coffee, the Cinnabon Cinnamon Roll is surprisingly good. For decafe, I’ve only tried Donut Shop so far, which I was also pleasantly surprised by.

I’m not a huge fan of the design. It’s very "industrial" looking. While it has a large color LCD, it displays random pictures of coffee beans while brewing. I would have preferred a status bar like my second Tassimo had. But I can get past these minor gripes due to the fact that it makes good, hot coffee with a humongous assortment of varieties.

I definitely recommend the K155 if you take your morning caffeination ritual seriously.

Don’t turn up your nose at the Keurig brewer. It can make decent coffee quickly and you can use your own ground coffee if you want to reduce waste. This brewer looks large but it really is not much bigger than the lesser Keurigs. It is a heavy machine, about 18 pounds. It’s mass may be why it is so much quieter than any other Keurig brewer I have tried. The construction is a level above the residential models. The brew chamber operates smoothly and there is an extra pressure plate in the brew head that stabilizes the pod while being clamped. What I enjoy about this machine is its simplicity. I don’t have to puzzle over an array of push buttons, most of which I don’t care about but require my attention for every brew. Many complain about the lack of 12 oz size which I don’t lament at all. That’s the size you would select if you want a weak and bitter cup of coffee. There just is not enough coffee in a k-cup to make a decent 12 oz cuppa Joe. I use 8oz exclusively and since that is always the default size all I have to do is press “Brew” after I close the lid. From start of drip to last burst of air it takes about 50 seconds to extract a cup. This speed should ensure a poor cup of coffee but, surpisingly, in the Keurig system it works. Perhaps the slight pressurization of the hot water makes up for the short brew time, I don’t really know. I do know the quality pods I use taste great. My favorite brand so far is Peet’s. If you use the cheapest, most stale bargain pods you can find you will make awful coffee. I often use the 4oz size without a pod to preheat a cup and to get the brew compartment warmed up and cleaned. In fact, I use the 4oz rinse a lot because a clean machine is important to good coffee. This extra fussiness is not required but I am, by nature, a fussy person. I had tried the Keurig K-1500 and it has no 4oz size among other failings. (I found it to be very noisy and slow to heat. It also can’t brew a second cup quickly, it has to heat up again.) I thought the K-1500 would be a cheaper and newer alternative to the older K-155 but it is miles away. Excellent aspects of the K-155 is that you can adjust the temperature within a 10 degree range. My test with an accurate thermometer shows the settings to be accurate. This amazes me because I see many review videos of other Kurig brewers where the temperature never even gets to 180. Keurig nailed the temp adjustment on this machine. I like that I can set the on and off times for the machine. It is ready for me in the morning and it obediently goes off at night. I drink coffee or want hot water all day so I don’t use the 2-hour auto off function. I have two complaints. The first is that there is no backup for the time setting. If you momentarily use power the clock shuts down and so does the on/off setting and the auto off if you are using that one. How hard could it have been to include a button cell battery and a simple circuit to keep the clock alive? Very disappointing and annoying. My only other annoyance is the silly display. The little movie is repetitive and conveys information nobody was asking for. Why can’t we choose to shut that down or suppress it. Both of these gripes are petty and not of much consequence. This brewer will give you your money’s worth in decent quality hot coffee. My previous brewers have had fairly short lives and I am hoping this one will last.
Oh, on a side note let me talk about using your own coffee. Keurig’s left and right hands apparent do not communicate with each other. Keurig says you can’t use a “my k-cup” in this brewer and that they don’t sell one. That is only partially true. Keurig used to make a gray-colored my k-cup with a screw top. That has disappeared years ago and I can attest that it does not fit and that you really can’t find them to buy anymore unless you go to the used market. So what does work. Amazingly the newer models works. These are the black ones with the big dot on the lid and the single hole in the middle. Just pop out the pod adapter and drop this in after being sure to remove the extra 2.0 device attached to the bottom. I’ll attach a photo of the one I use. Keurig has just discontinued this item and replaced it with a 5-hole top version. This one also works with K-155 but Keurig does not seem to know that. There is a valve mechanism in the lid that closes off the 4 extra holes. Be aware that you must remove the pod receptacle in the head to drop a my-kcup. I see so many complaints from folks saying these don’t fit and they include photos of it sitting atop the pod adapter. So, yeah, it won’t fit if you can’t read instructions. Thank you!

This is a nice machine, heavy duty, and does everything quickly and seems very “heavy duty” …

When I first used it, the coffee was WEEEEAK. I tried different Google remedies, but nothing really worked. Smaller sized ounce brews helped SLIGHTLY, but I don’t want a four ounce cup.

Two solutions that worked for me…

      1. Just run a dozen cups or so. I have it set at 8 ounce cups, and they strengthened with each cup.

      2. This is a biggie… you CAN adjust the water temp. Only about an eight degree spread, but at the hottest temp, the coffee is better and more thoroughly brewed.

To do this, turn off the unit, then while holding your finger on the touch screen, click the power (on the back left top) back on. This will open the settings screen. Notch up the temp to the highest available, it’ll be from 4 – 8 higher.

Ever since this time, we’ve had perfect coffee. šŸ™‚šŸ‘

My pastor picked this out to serve in our foyer and it is working really well! We have numerous organizations use our building, so there is always someone or small groups there. This lets everyone pick their drink of choice from different coffees to hot chocolate and tea. And they can easily make it. Larger than the normal ā€œhomeā€ one, we donā€™t have to fill the water well as often. Attractive.

This makes a perfect cup of coffee for me in a short period of time. I grind my own beans (to my own settings from a hopper in a Breville grinder) into a reusable pod which is not special in any way. I put the pod in the coffeemaker and that’s it. (I’ve never really found a perfect cup of coffee from any of the many Keurig K-cups I’ve tried.) I also have used the cups, paper filters and lids sold by Amazon, but using the reusable pods just seemed easier to me. This is my second K155 type coffee maker and while the first one lasted about 7 years, I didn’t feel a need to change coffeemakers. I was hoping this would use the same pods without restriction, and it does! (that was my biggest concern) My first coffeemaker died by starting to make a grinding noise when brewing and eventually the electronics failed and would not allow me to pick a cup size other than 10 oz, and it didn’t even work at that setting, spewing about an ounce of water. I felt it died too soon, but $25 a year average for the coffee maker is okay for me; I really liked it and couldn’t see me going back to anything else.
NEW: After using for a short time I noticed that the coffee was not hot like my previous Kuerig 150 coffee maker, so I pumped up the brew temp to 198 degrees (highest it will go). Measured the results with a calibrated liquid thermometer and found that it was only 181 degrees, 17 degrees lower than requested. Thats why it initially seemed luke warm to me. Now I put the brewed cup into the microwave for 20 seconds to heat it up. I will have to give it 3 stars, not 5.

I purchased the Keurig K155 Coffee Machine in October 2021 for our small office. It is only used by 1 person (my boss) in our office for 2 cups of coffee a day. The machine is easy to use, easy to clean and never had an issue. 2 years later to the day, I came into the office and noticed the lights on the display were no longer lit. It was plugged in, but not getting power. I had purchased the Asurion 4-Year Protection Plan for $44.99 in 2021, which I am glad I did. Working with Asurion was the most seamless process I have had. I called the 1-800 number and they submitted a claim and I received a UPS label within minutes of my call to mail the Keurig back. I had kept the original shipping box, interior product box and styrofoam so it worked out well. I mailed the Keurig out 3 days ago and just received a voicemail and also a text from Asurion that they were unable to fix the Keurig and they will be sending a refund of the $249.99 that we had originally paid in 2021. Not sure what Keurig model to get now. We may just purchase the same K155 Keurig model (now $294.99) and also the Asurion 4-Year Protection Plan again. So, I am a bit disappointed it conked out on us, but it was good while it lasted.

I purchased this Keurig 155 for my home only four months ago and it completely died. For the price I thought this would be a great quality coffee maker for our home that would last awhileā€¦.especially when our home averages only about 5-6 cups of coffee daily. I originally had a Keurig K-Cafe Special Edition Coffee maker that weā€™ve had for ages and works like a champ. The only reason I wanted the Keurig K155 was because of the extra water reservoir capacity. (šŸ˜– I should have just continued with my older Keurig and accepted a few extra trips to keep the water reservoir full) The issues started within a week of using the new Keurig K155. First it was the constant ā€œwater flow interruptedā€ warning that ā€œsometimesā€ would resolve itself if I lifted the water reservoir then reset it back down. This might result in me being able to grab one cup of coffee only to have the water flow interruption warning come up again. I tried descaling it hoping that might help just in case I was sent a refurbished K155 without my knowledge. The descaling didnā€™t help at all and I just continued to lift the water reservoir up multiple times a week just to remove the warning prompt. Eventually my Keurig K155 died without a warning prompt and the pump just wouldnā€™t activate. I scoured the internet looking for ā€œsolutionsā€ and tried several troubleshooting tips only to result with failure. I was beyond disappointed because this model of Keurig is certainly not cheap. Because it was barely 4 months old I contacted Keurig warranty department to make a claim under the 1 year manufacturers warranty. I had to do several troubleshooting tips over the phone but everything just failed. Keurig did indeed send me a replacement about a week later while I plugged in my older Keurig Special Edition coffee maker waiting for my replacement to arrive. When my replacement Keurig K155 arrived I unboxed it and plugged it in just to see if it would turn on. I saw in the fine print of the warranty information that I could be sent a refurbished K155 so I inspected it closely to see if I could find evidence that I received a refurbished one. It didnā€™t appear scratched or looked used as far as I could tell. šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø
With all that said I wish Keurig would have replaced my broken K155 with a new Keurig Special Edition instead. Although it would have come as a loss as far as price I would have been happier with that decision. The K155 was nothing but trouble for me from almost day one. So much so that when my replacement K155 came (after I made sure it worked) I put it back in the box and stored it in my closet. I have zero interest in even using it as my everyday coffee maker. Iā€™ll stick to my Keurig Special Edition and continue to be happy with its longevity and dependability. My only advice is to think long and hard before considering purchasing this K155ā€¦itā€™s expensive, itā€™s a headache and very unreliable.

I am really happy with this machine, it is a great addition to our kitchen. That being said I was a little disappointed when I realized it only made up to a 10oz cup. Our old keurig made 12 oz cups and that is what I was used to. My fault for not reading all the details. Be better if Keurig would give us the choice between 4-20 oz cups. I will only buy this machine again if they up the brewing size to at least 12oz
