There’s no “tucking this away” between uses. I do my smoothy every day, and it would be great to be able to pull this out of the drawer below the counter. But it’s big and long and heavy. I got this on a good sale, so I can’t really complain. It would be great for big mixing jobs.

I love my Kitchen Aid hand blender! Use it almost daily to make a smoothie in a Mason jar. So easy to use & light to hold. I have dupytren contracture of my rt hand & have no problem using it. Battery lasts for many uses. When I see the red light during a blend, I just recharge after. I dip it/mix it quickly in a glass with some soapy water to clean. Then rinse & towel it off & set aside to air dry the blades. It stores well in my utensil drawer. Great purchase!

KitchenAid products have a strong reputation and this is no exception. I’d been price watching this cordless model after my sister recommended it and when I saw the price drop to a new historic low I decided to pull the trigger.
I’m so glad that I did! The flexibility of having a cordless immersion blender is such a luxury. It can’t be used while plugged in, so I make sure to keep it charged up. That being said the battery life is great and I’d never worry about it dying in fewer than three uses.
In terms of operation, this thing is a dream with several thoughtful inclusions. The one-button operation is simple and intuitive. Just press harder and it goes faster. The variable speed function works flawlessly. There’s a plastic piece included that clips onto the metal head to protect your delicate pot and pan finishes, which is a great little way to expand the usability. The shaft and blender head quickly detach for cleaning and cleaning the blades themselves is as easy as running the blender in a cup of warm soapy water. The blender also comes with a tall plastic measuring cup with a lid, which I use way more than I thought I would.
I use this thing for everything from blending pots of soup and Tikka masala to pureeing fruits for making sorbets. My sister told me she’s been making homemade mayonnaise and other emulsions with hers and I’m excited to try that too.
Overall, you know whether or not you’ll use an immersion blender. If you want one wait for this one to go on sale like I did and you won’t regret it. KitchenAid delivered a great product here.
