Works great to diagnose appliances mainly use it for fridge and air conditioning a few things to know is it uses a spectrum, so where the laser is making contact is not exactly where you’re getting a temperature reading the farther you walk away the temperature reading changes it’s more made to read close up so read the instructions over all its pretty amazing for what I do i am a RV mechanic and for me it’s perfect and way cheaper than off the tool truck that comes to the shop happy with my pick and yes I recommend it i’m a huge fan of Klein tools I have a nice collection of them

I purchased this as I was enclosing my attic for my man cave and wanted to check the walls/insulation for hot spots, or cold spots if you will. It worked very well for that, and I gladly absorbed the cost as DIY was clearly far cheaper than hiring out. It worked well and helped me ensure top efficiency in walls by adding and moving insulation, or even sealing as needed. I was fine with having an extra tool that would almost never be used. Or so I thought…
Fast forward almost 2 years and I recently purchased a Blackstone griddle, and discovered this thermometer was excellent to both learn the variance in surface temps per zones on the griddle, but also ensure cooking temp is where it needs to be for whatever I may be cooking. It has been irreplaceable here and I use it almost every time I cook, which is a lot. So, almost 2 years and going strong, but also extremely helpful beyond the most recent use as a laser light cat toy. But seriously, I have found uses through the last years in troubleshooting AC and other items. Glad I purchased…

I have several commercial office suites and one of the suites remains uncomfortably warm on days with the temperature exceeds 100°. I purchased this device to determine the temperature of the air-conditioned air flowing into the unit. Based on information obtained from this device I was able to confirm that the temperature emanating from all of the AC units, in all of the suites, was consistent with one another. Unfortunately, as suspected, and I am sure proper energy calcs will confirm, I need a bigger AC unit for this Suite.

I use this on a daily basis, it works great. The only issue I have, is the temperature range isnt high enough. It’s not the company’s fault, it’s mine. I needed one asap, and this was the only overnight one I could find. Keep it under 800° F and you’ll be happy.

This product does what it is meant to do. It has sufficient accuracy for my needs. I like the “hold” feature where the temperature stays on the screen for a few seconds after releasing the trigger. The battery and °C/°F switch are safely secured under a cover held by a screw which is easily removed when necessary. Would buy again.
