This Nespresso Vertuo Pop machine comes with a great sample pod pack, and it was easy to set up. This replaced an older pod machine that I bought about 10 years ago, and I was reluctant to get back into the pod game for environmental reasons but the Nespresso company will recycle the old pods (you have to request the mailer bags, and those are free.) I really like the coffee this machine makes. I am a bit frustrated you can’t make more than one cup of coffee per pod. With my old machine, I could run water back through the used espresso pod for a short bump of Americano and it worked fine, but this machine will only run water once through a pod, and then boost it to the back end where you can collect the pods for recycling. However, it is not replacing my daily coffee maker so this will be a weekend treat for me. Overall I’m happy with it, and very happy with the taste of the coffee.

My husband is the coffee connoisseur of the house. I don’t drink coffee, but my husband makes up for that in how much he drinks. He has, or has had, every coffee maker, grinder or gadget known to man. Of course, his preferred cup is fresh, hand ground and hand pressed but his time being what it is, he will settle for quicker means. I got this for him fully thinking that there would be no way he would be happy with it, because, well, he’s picky. I was wrong. Don’t misunderstand, he has grumbled about a few things but overall, he’s super happy and that almost never happens when it comes to his coffee. One big grumble was the expense of the pods, limited availability of pods and lack of freedom to choose his own coffee. Well, being the dutiful wife <snicker>, I found that they make a kit to reuse the pods, so I ordered that for him. Now he’s able to pick his own coffee, grind to his preferred consistency and have his own blend prepared and ready to go whenever it strikes him. He even enjoys reloading the pods, go figure. The other thing that he grumbled about was the lack of buttons/feedback from the machine. To be fair, it’s pretty simple so it doesn’t take a lot to figure out but I do see his point in the fact that when you start it up you have to wait for it to be ready before starting the coffee but there isn’t an indicator of when it’s ready on the machine. Ok, I’m not sure how he made so many cups of coffee, and he made a lot of cups, if that as such a big deal but he seemed to think it was an issue. So, against his will, I made him set up the app, and sure enough it does indicate when it’s “ready”. He wasn’t thrilled with having to get and app and he said that is basically the only function. I will say that I don’t really believe him because I think by that point he didn’t want to give up and admit that the machine and app are fine. Either way, of his many means of making coffee he is still using this Nespresso machine exclusively. Considering just how picky he is about his coffee I take that as high praise indeed, so I’m saying that this machine is awesome, especially when combined with the kit to refill the pods.

I love this product. it’s a great machine. I love that it came with a complimentary variety of pods to try out. It was confusing at first since I didn’t know which pod to use. I eventually got the gist of things and bought more pods from the store. Personally I love Starbucks so I got them from Albertsons. They’re about $9-12 for a box of ten Starbucks blonde espresso pods. It’s really easy to work and even comes with a disposal container, so when your pod is used, it gets thrown into that. It is worth the money. I recommend it.

Overall, a really nice machine. Cute colors and good size. This also comes with 12 coffee pod sampler. 4 each of espresso, double, and regular coffee. Lots of different varieties of coffee as well so you can find your favorites for next order. This also comes with auto milk frother. Recognizes pod size for making different coffees.
Only issues I have had were with crema and instructions. Crema is fine for espresso but for coffee is really more foam. A bit disappointing. For being such a simple machine really not intuitive to use. Could have better instructions on making sure you are hitting button right and what flashing symbols mean.

I thought I knew what coffee tasted like as I have been using a Keurig for years now. That is until I got this.
First, this is much quieter than my other coffee makers which is surprising considering it uses a centrifuge to extract the coffee.
I also love how I do not have to choose the amount of water for my drink. The machine does it all by itself based on the capsule I insert.
The way this machine extracts coffee is amazing and the end result is art in a cup. If you do not own any clear glass coffee cups, you need to order some so you can marvel at the look of the finished product.
I also love that this includes a milk frother. My last machine had one but it took twice as long as this one to function. This frother makes silky foam that looks and tastes great.
The only complaint I have is the size of the water tank, could be larger but it gets the job done.
Overall, this is the best coffee maker I have ever owned. Great coffee… period.

Ok honestly-I guess I may sound like a total espresso newbie here. I love espresso but my experience is largely via Starbucks and that’s about it, unfortunately. Maybe that tarnishes this review but hopefully it can be seen constructively as a way to improve user experience for newbies instead of feeling like an experience that is meant for a pro. I wanted to like this machine. I’m just struggling. I found it so confusing. I actually had to go hunting the internet to figure out what all the different coffees mean because there wasn’t sufficient information in the box. I would have loved to have a small informational brochure telling me about the individual samples that were supplied and maybe even ideas for how to make them. I thought maybe they’d be sort of color coded by type but not really. Every single one was a different color and had no description as to what it was. I would have liked them to at least say “bold” or “medium” or blonde” or or a simple description of the flavor notes but they all had these names in italian and that’s it and I had to go looking up what they all meant. Really annoying and unhelpful. And the instructions that came with it were a little tricky because there was a lack of words and kinda had more of a feel like those obnoxious IKEA instructions that just sort of expect you to guess what they mean. If you wanted additional instructions you had to scan a qr code to watch a video for each thing. Again I thought that was annoying to give me another thing I had to look up rather than just providing it in the instructions. And the videos did not answer all my questions. I spent a frustratingly long time trying to figure out things that they should have just put in writing to begin with. It gave me the feeling that this whole company and this whole brand idea of having “real espresso” from home was kind of snobbish-like hey if you were a true espresso fan you’d just “know” this stuff and we wouldn’t have to tell you. “True espresso aficionados don’t need explanations.” *insert eye roll* Listen, just give better instructions without extra steps for the customer to hunt down and try explaining your different espresso types to your customers that don’t speak italian or understand the making of a “real espresso” vs regular coffee. But when your labels in the sample box just say “Chiaro” or “Fortado” or “Voltesso” or “Altissio” with no further explanation and you make the customer hunt down what they are online it feels a little pretentious. Like either you just expect us to all be on the level where we just know what that means or we are essentially treating this sample box like a Valentine’s Day box of chocolates that we just have to try and be surprised with each flavor.
After what was entirely too long of a process for getting it set up and figuring out which flavor I actually wanted to try, the functionality of the machine was incredibly simple. Pop in the pod, close the lid and lock it and then double click the top button. I chose one you make with milk and I opted to add creamer first to the mug, then the espresso, then I foamed some milk to put on top (which also figuring out what to do with that canister on the side was shockingly not as easy to figure out as it should have been. Just some symbols on the side that you are supposed to interpret just as if they were saying, “Here’s some hieroglyphs, figure it out, good luck!” ….and I also feel annoyed that it took up two plugs in my kitchen instead of just one like my last machine that also had a build in frother rather than individual pieces)—-honestly I still have no idea what my type of drink is even called but I don’t even care because it actually tasted amazing and gave me a fantastic jolt of energy for the rest of the day. I’ve always had a problem liking regular coffee from home ever since I heard it referred to as “bean water.” I just haven’t had a desire for it since and all I can think of is that it is a watered down flavorless drink that gives no energy. So I was thrilled to have a drink from home that actually tasted great and had me zinging around all day. That was the best part of the whole experience. (The coffee pods on the other hand-completely different. They were all really bitter to me. I’m an espresso person for sure.)
I do like the function where it automatically disposes of the old cup and throws it in its own lil trash bin for ya. I’ve never had that before so that was a cool feature.
And the last thing, is I was shocked to discover how much these pods are online. More than any other type I’ve purchased. The only thing I can say to that is at least it is good….I’m just not sure if I’m enough of a fan to say it’s worth it. I did get this machine from Vine so it was no cost to me and you get what you get but I will say the only color option offered was yellow and I wish there were other options cause it sticks out like a sore thumb in my kitchen. Not my favorite.

Iʻve been interested in a Nespresso ever since I had one in my hotel room in New Zealand. Iʻm not much of a coffee drinker but the ease of making a cup of coffee when I need a little boost was very attractive. Plus, I wouldnʻt need to spend $10+ on a single cup from any coffee shop. I wasnʻt too excited at the color but it gives my kitchen counter a bright pop of color which is nice.
The unit comes well packaged, each item safe and secure in transit. It is very well made. The setup was relatively easy. The instructions include a QR code that guides you through cleaning the unit before use and pairing it with your phone. It comes with a kit of samples. 4 espresso, 4 double espresso, and 4 regular coffee pods so you donʻt need to buy pods just yet. The descriptions are in Italian but you can use a translator to get more information.
After cleaning the unit, I brewed a cup of coffee and used the milk frother that comes with the set. Just add a little sweetener (if you need it) and you are good to go! I am looking forward to having a cup of coffee every morning!
