I bought this to replace my Keurig Mini after it broke within a year and it’s a 10/10 upgrade. It performs like a dream and has so many options and uses. It’s very intuitive and easy to get up and started straight out of the box and I’ve used most of the features. Makes a great cup of coffee. It’s a little louder than I’m used to, but the noise doesn’t bother me. Praying it lasts me longer than a year!

Firstly, this machine is great, it replaced my old Keurig machine from 6 years ago, I was dead set on getting another Keurig, they are great machines with a great reputation and they are kind of the trail blazer in the coffee pod single serve machines.
But I took a chance and got this NINJA and I actually love it, I like it better than the old Keurig!

That being said, I was disappointed that this Ninja does not accommodate reusable coffee pod single serve filters. Or that’s what they say anyway!
So I said what the heck, what could go wrong by trying a universal reusable filter that I have been using with my Keurig all these years, so I threw it in the Ninja and it worked like a champ. They totally work! I suppose for some reason Ninga says officially this model does not have that capacity, but I’m telling you these work just fine, here is a link to the ones I get, I go through probably two a year because the top plastic hinge eventually wears out and the top completely separates, no big deal, you can live with it but they are so inexpensive I just buy a box of brand new ones.
I bet you can get away with buying any universal reusable pod filter, you can’t hurt the machine by trying.
Hope this helps, I have read the same complaints from others as well, but don’t fret, cuz it’s a non issue at this point!

Ninja blender is amazing so I trusted the quality and yes I was right. This machine delivers the flavor of the coffee bean you use so well with many options. (iced and hot and bold brew) I personally love brewing with the setting of iced (mixing with ice) and enjoy really thick brewing hot coffee (ice coffee setting brew with hot to be mixed with ice cubes)

It warms up the water and brew the coffee so quickly.

Aaaaand I actually use this machine for warm water too. just run without the coffee and get perfect hot water!

      Extremely recommended!!

I now have 3 Keurig machines and I like this one the best. It looks good and takes up less room than the others. It is pretty fast and makes a pretty good cup of coffee. My complaints are that the coffee could be hotter for me and I wish that it didn’t drip when the brewing was done.

Normally we are big Ninja product users in our house, but this coffee/tea maker is a little deceiving. We typically use Starbucks cups to make our tea from K cups. I saw this had a nice size reservoir on the back with up to 24-ounce cup size dispensing option. However, that 24 ounces is only available when you use the ground mode and not the K cup mode (and yes it can tell which adapter is in it). On K cup mode the highest ounces it will produce is 12. So, we have to cycle it twice to get the desired amount. And even though you set it on 12 ounces in ice mode you might get 6 actual ounces. It says it does that to account for the ice, but if I set it on 12 ounces, I expect 12 ounces. Which like I said is still not enough to fill a refillable Starbucks cup or similar size cup. We don’t notice any taste diff vs using the cheap model that you have to fill each time with water. At least with the cheap one however much water we put in it is how much water it dispensed the first brew time.

This brews a great cup of coffee – iced or hot – it always comes out perfect. I prefer iced coffee most of the time and this has been a winner! It’s slim, the water reservoir is awesome and it so easy to use. Love this coffer maker! Highly recommend!

    7. I Do The Speed Limit

Flavored ground coffee blends gum up the innards of sophisticated, expensive grind/brew/pour espresso and coffee machines. I have a Nespresso machine for wonderful espresso and lungo pours and I have a De’Longhi that grinds and then gives me all kinds of pour choices. But this Fall I wanted pumpkin spice, and some Barnie’s blends and an interesting Mexican chocolate flavored coffee that I found. So I went looking online for a machine–not too expensive, but not too cheap either–that would provide me with the means to make a consistently hot, very rich, cup of flavored coffee with cream, worthy of drinking.

I found this machine and I already love it. And it sits nestled between my Nespresso and De’Longhi machines on my coffee bar. In fact–and maybe because it is a novelty for me to be able to have wonderful flavored coffees at my fingertips–I have been using it more often than my other two, more expensive machines. But beware, or be aware: The price you pay for more flavorful coffee, will not be the one-time cost of this machine. It will be the fact that you will go through a bag of ground coffee way quicker than you ever imagined. I accept that. Because this machine makes the best cup of flavored ground coffee that I’ve ever had.

This machine covers all the bases: Using the included filter in the brew basket, and with an ample water reservoir (56oz) at its back, it brews whatever ground coffee your heart desires, whatever grind, however much grounds you add to the filter, and however much water you press the button for. It has three lighted buttons for choosing a milder (Classic) or stronger (Rich) or even iced coffee. It makes for almost overwhelming opportunities to get the exact coffee you are looking for.

And, hey, if those choices do overwhelm you, you can use the pod adapter in the brew basket and insert any kind of K-cup (not paper though), and just choose the amount of water for a single-serve. (But I don’t use K-cup very often, so my review will not be addressing that feature.) And, the machine senses whether you have the filter or pod adapter in the brew basket and proceeds accordingly.

I also have not tried the iced coffee feature. But from witnessing all the different ways this machine can provide you with the perfect strength coffee, I’m positive the iced coffee feature works well. Just use a vessel that can tolerate both hot and cold and fill it with ice, hit the proper button and let the hot coffee trickle into it.

From reading reviews and the manuals that come with this machine, I assume that this is a relatively new product for Ninja. The manuals talk of a 4 ounce pour and a frother arm–both of these features are not included on this machine. And that is not an issue for me, the person who already has both of those features on other machines, but it might make a difference to you. So, to be clear this machine does not create froth (from your own heated milk in your own cup, which will be available on another model), nor does it give you the opportunity to make a 4 ounce pour.

I am plenty okay with the 7 choices (of 6 ounces to 24 ounces) of water volumes. As this is a single pour machine, (then clean the grounds out of the filter basket), I will use my own quality carafe if I want to make enough coffee for a few morning cups or if I am entertaining a guest or two. But, and this is a possible fault: 24 ounces only stretches to three 8 ounce cups of coffee or 4 six ounce cups of coffee with cream, for instance.

And, I’m adding this to my original review: I’d like to find a thermal carafe that fits under the spout of this machine. One that has a pour spout and a lid and no handle. Because I’ve been using a double-walled stainless steel travel mug and of course those do not have pour spouts–so it’s a very messy pour from travel mug to coffee cup. The carafe without its lid would need to be no more than 8″ tall and hold at least 26-28 ounces to the rim. I find several on Amazon, but none show the height without the lid. Nor is it obvious if the handle is part of the lid, because I’m thinking a handle would not allow the carafe to fit close enough to the machine’s dispenser.

What else I’ve experienced so far:
–This machine makes coffee that is plenty hot, so hot that I can only take a tentative sip at first (and that is with cream included.)
–It takes longer to brew than a Nespresso machine. It takes less time to brew than a drip machine. And the more water you use, the longer the brewing time. The reason: This machine allows the hot water to sit and stew in the grounds to provide a stronger, richer, flavor. Some quicker machines use pressure to build flavor and richness. But then machines built on the use of pressure do not allow ingredients other than coffee beans, so no flavored coffee grounds.
–Brewing is done in stages that appear as lighted bars on top of the machine. It is nice to be able to see the progress.
–The cup tray raises and lowers easily to accommodate different size vessels. The coffee does pour rather close to the machine. And the spout does not push in or out. It is a bit restrictive if you use certain uniquely-shaped vessels.
–The pod adapter and filter both fit in a storage bin on one side of the machine.
–The included spoon hangs from a hook on the other side of the machine.
–Speaking of spoons and spoonfuls: You may be surprised how quickly you go through a bag of coffee…..
–You will need to make decisions about how much grounds and how much water and what size vessel. You will need to know the volumes of your different cups. Or, if that is something you don’t want to do, use the K-cup feature and you’ll only need to decide on the water amount and the cup size.
–Cleaning is relatively easy, just the brew basket and filter or pod adapter.
–Descaling is easy too: 16 ounces of white vinegar or a descale solution and water and a 2 quart vessel and push a button. It takes 75 uninterrupted minutes.

Went on a trip with my cousins and had a coffee maker with pods in the hotel room. I KNEW I had to get one at home. I am older and just used to having Folgers coffee in microwave. hahaha. THOSE DAYS ARE GONE. When I returned home i did a search and found this one… it is GREAT. Nice for 1-2 people , but so quick for company stopping by. Reminder for things you need at your coffee station; you need the coffee maker, buy pods, buy a pod holder for easy access near coffee maker. I put a spot for stevia container and cream container, too. I bought a large MAT for everything to sit on and it is great for drips , easy wipe. It all works together so easy peasy. I heard about hot chocolate pods, want to try that.
I would recommend the black ROLLING CART pod container that sits underneath the coffee maker. SO GREAT. just roll the cart after pressing the lever at the bottom and cart rolls forward from underneath my cupboard, Roll back after done putting pod in. Comes in two sizes. I got the smaller one.
LOVE THE FOAMER. its right there , I have the seperate foamer but this is so accessable. Easy to clean.
I have yet to try the specialty coffee or the iced coffee feature yet, but the videos are great on Amazon how to do that, too. I like the classic up to the 24 oz water line, I get about 2 cups of 12 oz coffee a morn. Boy this thing is FAST, too. AND HOT water. the Video tests how hot is and its HOT. It really is. You will also like the grounds filter permenant basket to use up your ground coffee. This doesnt take up much space on counter,,, I have a cusinart on- demand coffee maker too which is grand, but this little baby does it all for smaller amt of people. Just remember to put the cup under the spout, I FORGOT the first time when I used it ..hahahahah, a mess, but its funny memory. I am going to gift one to my son and daughter in law. I am becoming a Ninja Gal, their products are pretty amazing.

I am so glad I purchased this coffee maker when my other name brand died. I actually really liked my other one but when I saw the versatility this one offered, I took a chance on it. Ninja is a reputable brand so I don’t suppose it was a huge leap. When I use my same kcups the coffee taste is stronger and richer tasting. I like iced coffee so I most often utilize the filter for ground coffee to make a larger amount. For example I use 3 to 5 scoops of grounds and set the Ninja on iced coffee and 18 oz. It yields 9 oz of brew and then I flavor it and add ice. I’ve used the foamer and it worked great for my latte. I set the coffeemaker on Specialty( which yields 4 oz of brew) used a kcup and while it brewed I heated 4 oz of milk and foamed it. It was much easier than getting out my espresso/cappuccino machine and tasted as good. The reservoir is easy to fill and install, the machine and parts easy to clean and the on board tools keep things organized. You can’t go wrong on this machine and it’s not big and bulky either. Thanks Ninja…you’ve made a handy, versatile machine and it gets the most robust taste out of the kcups and ground coffee.

Love this coffee maker! Lots of features and conveniences packed into a small machine. I’d been using a Cuisinart pot + pod machine for years but I always make single cups anyway so I wanted a machine that catered to that.

This Ninja brews a solid cup of coffee. Much richer and smoother than my Cuisinart. The options to customize your cup (classic, rich, over ice, specialty) really let you personalize the brew. Control panel on top is super easy to operate and does automatically shut off after awhile. The one thing it’s missing, and this is a very minor thing for me, is there’s no scheduled brew feature.

The machine itself is slender and fits easily on the countertop in my apartment’s tiny kitchen. Despite that, the water tank is nice and big (56oz) so I don’t feel like I’m filling it up constantly. In fact I have to fill it less than the full size coffee machine I was using to brew individual cups previously.

Despite its slender profile the machine has a nifty little storage bin on the right side to store whichever adapter (k-cup or grounds) you aren’t using. Even a little storage hook right above that to hold the grounds scoop. But honestly maybe my favorite feature is the adjustable tray height so you can move it up or down depending on how tall your cup is. Doesn’t completely get rid of splatter but it helps!

The milk frother on the left was an added bonus!

The material is a matte plastic which felt a little cheaper than I was expecting, but honestly I think that is more of a credit to the sleek design of the machine because I expected something more refined. It’s totally fine though and it looks great on my counter top. The color is really nice.

Over all I actually can’t believe how much you get for the price of this machine. I’ve had other Ninja coffee makers before and I have a high opinion of their quality in general. This one further confirms that opinion!

I bought this at $99 but as of writing this review it’s on sale for $79 and frankly that’s a total steal. If you’re in the market for a single serve coffee maker I cannot recommend this one enough!
