I purchased this as we were having our kitchen remodeled and didn’t have a cooktop.
It is perfect to prepare eggs, breakfast and smaller meals.
It will boil water- but take just a few extra minutes.
Overall, the burners are a bit hard to clean, but the rest of the unit is very easy to clean.
It was great for the price and served our needs well!
I would recommend!

It was close to impossible to boil water in a medium to large pot.

You get what you paid for, for an RV it’s ok or if you are in the army. But if you live in an apartment without a full size kitchen, DONT buy this one, doesn’t work for day to day tasks since is too slow to get heat. There are some similar models a little bit more expensive but worth the investment.

This hotplate is well-made and very solid. Great heat distribution!
I noticed some reviewers complain about the heat retention. Well, that’s what cast iron does; It retains and distributes heat very well. I wonder if some of these reviewers have ever used heavy cast iron cookware.
Burn it in, as the instruction say, with a near an cracked open window. It has oil on the cast iron to protect from rust and it will need to be burned off. After that, it’s good to go with no strange odors.
A very, almost inaudible hum when in use. Not annoying in any way, unless you have the hyper-sensitive hearing of a bat.

My stovetop broke, so I ordered this. It arrived in a day or two and I fried some chicken the first day. It got the oil very hot on the highest setting. Where the plug attaches gets really hot, but perhaps that’s normal. For $25 I’ll be happy if it lasts a year.

Works well, Keep in mind that cast iron holds heat, so burners stay hot for a while after turning off. The only thing I don’t like is the numbers wiped off the control knobs making it difficult to know your setting.

Heats fast. The ribbed surface of he platen is hard to clean though.

I bought this for one thing and one thing only – to boil water to sanitize things. It won’t do that, so it’s absolutely useless to me. I’m returning it.
If that’s not a requirement, it’s a good looking compact stove – it smells awful at first but I won’t knock it for that because that’s kinda typical of this type of thing. Good form factor and easy to use – but boiling water isn’t even the hottest thing people often do with their stoves, so if it can’t do that, it may not serve any purpose for a lot of people.
