I knew I could not go wrong by ordering this item with 3 trays! First of all, let me mention how this thing about stainless steel containers work in the food business… There are quite a few sizes: full, 1/2, 1/3(the ones I ordered here), 1/4, 1/6 and 1/9…And 1/2 long…Different depths. Some bigger sizes are mostly used for hot foods, and smaller sizes in sandwich prep tables for example. So I ordered this with the 3-1/3 stainless steel containers, but I can always interchange with other sizes that I already have because you can use just one full size, two 1/2 sizes, three 1/3 sizes or one 2/3 with a 1/3. My point is, the full size opening is standard, the combinations are up to you if you have the additional trays. This will be very useful when I have family and friends dinners, but definitely great for business purposes too. At least it’s not yo heavy when empty! 😉 And yes, it is a great value and commercial grade!

Our warmer arrived in perfect condition. It’s very sturdy. Works great. I love the ability to set the temperature as opposed to settings from 1-9. Also love the drain feature – a definite must. Plans are sturdy and of good quality. No complaints here. Thank you!

This Warner looks very nice and does keep food warm. It has large containers so if you’re feeding a large group, there is plenty of space. The concerns I have are it also came dented inside where the water drains. There are small dents outside too. It has a stainless steel look, but is not stainless steel (failed the magnet test). Most importantly, all the edges are extremely sharp, so care must be taken when handling its components.

I work for a large residential rescue mission. With 130ish residents in programs plus public meals, this is getting quite a bit of use. It’s used every meal every day. Eggs and oatmeal in the mornings, soups for lunch, and soups and casserole type things for dinner. That’s pretty solid use and it’s holding up just fine so far.
It’s sturdy. Fills and empties fairly easily. Nothing has leaked so far. Very simple operation.
Very happy with it.

First, let me say that we frequently use steam tables at work. We have a few different brands and styles. This Valgus unit not only holds up well in comparison, it actually surpasses some other more expensive units!
This unit is a “wet” steam table. This means the heating element is not exposed. Inside is a built-in water reservoir. The unit I received for review has two deep half-size pans with lids. The pans are heavy duty and high quality. The water reservoir has a built-in drain, which none of my other table top units have. Much appreciated!
The controls are pretty standard. There is a power switch (many brands do not have this, you just turn the thermostat to off), and there is a thermostat with actual temperatures listed. With many brands, you just have to turn the knob and hope the temperature is right. I was surprised with how well it held temps. I turned the knob to about 170 degrees, and as you can see from the photo, the water was 179. I’m pretty happy with that.
The heating element is 900 watts. My other units are 1,500 watts. You might think more power is better, but when you are plugging in to circuits that have other things plugged in, you can start tripping breakers if you draw too much. My nice rolling buffet steam table is only 500 watts for each tray, so you definitely don’t need 1,500 watts. Overall I am glad this unit is 900 watts instead of 1,500. It gives me more leeway in where I plug it in. Especially when off site and when using extension cords.
I really like this unit, and if we and up needing another steam table, I will be going to Valgus!
Note to all steam table manufacturers: I would love to have multiple watt settings. If I could turn down to 500 watts, I could plug three units into a 15 amp circuit. Obviously a higher watt setting would heat up faster, so it would be nice to have that choice.
